"We will use your emotional bond with all of your mercenaries as the part of the vow," explained Teressa. "Once you're ready, we will shake hands, and then you will drink this, my blood."

"Y-Your blood, Lady Teressa?!" the Hobgoblin Chief gasped as he saw a small cup of blood that Teressa had poured into. "Wait, won't I turn into a Vampire or something?"

"No, not if I don't wish for you to become one," Teressa explained. "And I would never let a Hobgoblin become a vampire, hahahaha!"

Teressa laughed out loud at the thought of this lowly hobgoblin imagining he could ever become a Vampire to begin with!

All Vampires capable of turning others into their kind had full control of such a transformation, and if they didn't allow it, the target could drink all the blood they wanted and would never turn into one.

This is the reason why there aren't people turning into Vampires after stealing the blood from a dhampir or something.

"I-I see…" The Hobgoblin felt offended, but before this woman, he simply couldn't really say anything else, unless he wanted his head to roll and his blood to paint the floor red.

"Wait, do I have to do it as well?" Gofumina wondered.

As this happened, Vlad and Gofumina shook hands, while Gofumina drank a bit of his blood, and the Hobgoblin did the same with Teressa.

As the ritual was finished, the Hobgoblin felt a connection with Teressa, incredibly faint; he felt invisible chains of blood wrapped around his neck, which Teressa was now holding with her hands.

The same happened with Gofumina, and as this happened, they also felt all other Goblins being "chained" by this metaphorical power.

"W-What the…? I'm growing stronger? Ah! I got new abilities?!" Gofumina was shocked. "Wait, what does it mean I'm a Player Unit now?! Did I become part of some sort of Civilization game or something?"

"I-It says I am a General Unit…" Heracles said, scratching his head as he saw the System Notify him too. "I got… new Abilities, my Stats increased as well. But these abilities… they're all related to war? Most of them work when surrounded by my fellow goblins and soldiers."

"Mine too…" Gofumina nodded.

"Incredible, I didn't expect this outcome…" Vlad was shocked. "Does that mean that even Players and other NPCs can be assimilated into the Territory System and become "Units"? That's… whoa. Kind of weird but cool at the same time."

"Territory System?" Gofumina asked. "Hey Vlad, tell me what the hell is going on!"

"Okay, okay, calm down…" Sighed Vlad. "Actually no, my mom will explain it to you; she's also in charge of it. Right?"

"A-Ah, well, if you insist…" Teressa said. "Wait, where are you going, young man? We have a lot to talk about yet!"

"I really need to go, though. Sorry, sorry!"

Paul ended logging out immediately, disappearing into a flash of digital blue light and pixels, leaving behind Teressa with her three new guests and Camilla by her side, who was looking at the scene almost absentmindedly.

"He left…" Camilla said.

"But why?! Where did he even go? Ugh, I hate that Players have to "go out" sometimes…" Teressa sighed.

"A-Actually, I'm literally about to pee myself too, so I gotta go. Byeeee! Chief, I'll leave the rest of the politics and stuff to you; you know I'm not good, right? Alright, bye!"
