When Vlad summoned the spirit of his own soul, he was surprised by his appearance and strange personality.

"W-Wha…?! I expected to see the Heavenly Demon, but this thing isn't him!"

He had imagined the Heavenly Demon would materialize out of his soul; however, that was far from the truth. The "thing" that came out of it was much scarier!

"HEHEH… HEEEHEEE…!"

And it even laughed creepily! Chris, Gofumina, and Emerlinda glared at the thing emerging out of Vlad with eyes wide open, completely paralyzed out of horror.

"W-What the hell is that thing?!"

As Chris screamed loudly in surprise, the thing glared back at him, suddenly beginning to look angered, its creepy smile curving downwards.

"GRAAAAHHH!"

The thing roared incredibly loudly, sending a shockwave across the entire room that shattered the ceiling and the walls behind Chris, Gofumina, and Emerlinda!

TRUUUMMM!!!

"Uwaaah?!"

"Eeeeh?!"

"The hell?!"

The three ended up falling off the second floor into the garden, as Vlad was left speechless, glaring at the thing, giggling again, looking at the night sky.

"Ah, shit…! What the hell did you do?!"

Vlad grew desperate, running down while grabbing the Spirit and trying to put him back inside his soul, but the thing groaned angrily, biting his hands and grabbing his arms.

"Ouch! Agh! Why is this thing so unruly?! I thought you were my own soul?!"

As Vlad complained, he glanced down, noticing Chris, Emerlinda, and Gofumina were fine… although quite angry.

"Hey Vlad, was that necessary?!" Gofumina complained.

"W-What happened? Are you ok?" Emerlinda wondered.

"What the fuck was that thing?!" Chris asked angrily.

"I-It's my skill!" Vlad screamed. "Aaggh! Just stand down!"

"Gryaarr!"

The unruly spirit bit his hands constantly, almost breaking his bones while doing so, but always holding back enough to not damage him completely.

"Y-You shitty piece of…!"

["Hmph, so you're struggling to control your own Heart Demon? You're truly inept in every way, my reincarnation."]

Suddenly, Paul heard the voice of the Heavenly Demon.

Finally, after not appearing for a while, he was finally talking again.

"W-Where the hell were you the last few days?!"

["I thought you could take care of things on your own! But it seems you can't even stop a Heart Demon from wreaking havoc! How can you be so useless?!"]

"Heart Demon? What do you mean by Heart Demon?"

["They're Demons born from our own Hearts… or Souls. Embodiments of our grudges and our darkest feelings. Most of the time, they can even get to the point of devouring your true self, replacing you."]

"What?!"

["It appears that skill has created something… similar to one. But it's still not quite like I remember them. I've fought and killed most of those born from my Heart. You can either absorb them back to gain more power or tame them, turning them into valuable familiars. But I just ate them all. You should eat yours. You'll get much stronger that way!"]

"Eat it?! Are you crazy? He's literally my own soul!"

["Then eat your own soul and become stronger; it's the only way! Or do you want him to eat you first?!"]

"Agh, shut up! I knew you wouldn't be able to help at all…!"

Vlad decided to ignore the idiot and just concentrate, using his Spirit Mediator skills and his manipulation of the Spiritual Blood Ki Essence to compress the demon.

"Come on…! Go… back!"

"AAARRGH!"

The creature let out a loud roar before disappearing and going back to being his normal self, although he felt like that thing was there, somewhere…

"Haaahh… Ah, what a mess… But I did it…"

He felt slightly exhausted; he never imagined his own soul would become a threat to him. But seeing just how wicked this game could be, perhaps it wasn't that out of place.

He quickly ran down into the garden and explained what happened to Chris and the rest.

"Sorry about that… I'll try not to bring it out casually again… Aagh, dammit, what a mess! Let's fix this quickly before Teressa finds this out; I don't want more of her nagging…"

Vlad quickly extended several hands made of Blood and grabbed all the wood that fell off into the garden, and through Geomancy, he merged everything back together, repairing the house.

"Ah, done… That was easier than I thought?"

He looked at the house, nodding.

"It was super-fast! What the hell? And I thought we were going to be hitting nails for a while." Chris said. "So you got an inner demon now or something? I thought the Heavenly Demon was already one."

"It's not like that; it is just the spiritualization of my soul, weird but… I'll have to find a way to use him," sighed Paul. "I think I just need to train a lot and get used to its powers."

"But didn't it have some sort of mind of its own? That sounds really scary to me!" Emerlinda said. "W-Will it be really okay?"

"Yeah, it'll be fine, don't worry…" Vlad said. "I'll have to somehow make him my friend or something? It seemed wild and unruly; that won't be easy to pull off…"

["I told you that you should have simply eaten him! You would've gained great power!"]

"I don't want to find out what'll happen to my Avatar if I make him eat his own soul, so no thanks…"

["Hmph! What a coward! Have you never heard the saying "no risk, no reward"?!"]

"Maybe you should go back to sleep for a week again..."

As Vlad sighed, he glanced back at his friends.

"Anyway, I guess I'm done for now. Should we go check the buildings first? There's also that Territory Guardian Egg I want to check. I think the little thing might hatch pretty soon."

As he spoke, his friends were confused.

"Wait, Territory Guardian Egg? What's that?" Gofumina asked.

"I've never heard of that…" Emerlinda said.

"Aaah, it's the egg of a beast specialized in protecting a Territory," Vlad explained. "Once it hatches, we'll finally be able to see what it can even do to begin with. Let's go."
