Chapter 182: Another Chris’ Morning

-----

"Ugh…"

Chris slowly opened his blue eyes, noticing the sunlight streaming through his room's window. He didn't wake up immediately, however, cuddling back into bed and hugging his pillow for another hour before a knock came at the door.

"Chris, dear, it's pretty late already. Everyone's had breakfast… I saved yours. Can you open the door?"

"Uuh…"

Chris slowly opened his eyes again, looking even sleepier than before. He sat up, sighed, drank from his water bottle, and shuffled to open the door.

"Good morning, son! Rise and shine!"

His father greeted him, a handsome, young-looking man with long black hair and a gentle smile. Despite his youthful appearance, which made him look no older than twenty-four, he was well into his forties.

A single glance made it clear where Chris got his looks.

"Dad, it's, like, ten in the morning, and it's the weekend… Let me sleep in…"

"Haha! What are you talking about? Ten in the morning is already late! Come on, son, here's your breakfast."

"Hm, thanks…"

Chris yawned as he placed the tray of food on his bed, kissed his dad's cheek, and shuffled back to his covers.

"Alright, let's start the day, Chris. Don't be a sleepyhead, dear. Hey, isn't it too dark in here?"

His father quickly opened all the curtains, flooding the slightly dim room with bright sunlight, much to Chris's annoyance.

As Chris munched on his toast, he glared at his father, who began picking up clothes from the floor and sorting them.

Soon after, his father started vacuuming, the loud noise ringing in Chris's ears.

"Dad, stop it already! I'm eating breakfast. Can't you do this later? Also, I can clean my own room…"

"Come on, now, I'm almost done…"

"Ugh…"

Chris sipped his coffee and headed to the bathroom, where he took a relaxing warm bath, washing his gorgeous body with his special soap that always kept his skin soft.

"Whew~"

He sighed in relief as he stepped out of the bathroom. Noticing his phone and his naked body, he smirked mischievously.

"Heheh, I bet he's going to die if I send him a picture like this at this hour…"

Chris grabbed his phone, snapped a few pics just seconds after his bath, and sent them to Paul.

Back in his room, his father had finally finished cleaning, so Chris locked the door and decided to spend the day lazily.

"Ah, right, today's that event, isn't it? I should log in soon."

Before playing the game, though, Chris felt like drawing. He grabbed his drawing tablet and started finishing a sketch he'd been working on.

The sketch depicted a handsome, tall, white-haired vampire prince—Vlad, Paul's avatar. Though he didn't like to admit it, Chris loved Vlad's design. His entire aura and appearance were simply gorgeous.

He'd been a fan of vampires like these since he was a kid—the handsomer, the better. No wonder he had posters of Alucard from Castlevania plastered on his room's walls.

"I'm gonna add some blood around him, like he's bending it… Yeah."

He spent a good hour drawing, coloring, and polishing. The sketch was already done, so finishing it quickly wasn't too hard, especially with some good music to keep him inspired. He wrapped up at nearly noon.

"Oooho! I think I outdid myself with this one! Hehehe, now I'll draw him kissing my avatar…"

Giggling over what to draw next, Chris realized it was getting late. He posted the drawing online, visited the bathroom one last time, and prepared to log in.

"Alright~ Let's go."

Knock, knock!

He was interrupted again as someone knocked at the door…

"What?!"

Chris's irritation spiked.

"Hey, Chris, can I borrow your white blouse today? I'm short on clothes, and I finally got a date with the guy I like from work! Please, please, please!"

It was Chris's older sister. This wasn't the first time she'd asked to borrow his clothes. Chris wore beautiful, often feminine clothing, and his sister frequently borrowed his white blouses, shorts, stockings, shirts, jackets, and more.

"Seriously?! Can't you buy your own clothes?"

"Aw, come on, don't be mean! I'm your big sister!"

"That doesn't mean you get to wear my clothes all the time!"

Chris opened the door grumpily but handed his sister the white blouse she wanted so badly.

"Thank you! I love you so much—you're the best brother in the world!"

Her annoyed expression turned to joy as she hugged Chris, kissed his face repeatedly, and ran back to her room.

"Sometimes it feels like I'm the older sibling here…"

Finally finding some peace, Chris returned to the VR Capsule, eager to enjoy the game's world and fully immerse himself.

KNOCK, KNOCK!

"Aw, come on!"

Chris cried angrily, his adorable face furious, which only made him look cuter. He trudged back to the door.

"I'm not lending you the black shorts, sis. Those are mine, and I don't want anybody to—"

"It's me, Chris."

"Ah, Mom?! I thought you were at work…"

It wasn't his sister but his mother, a gorgeous, tall Japanese woman with long black hair and sharp black eyes, wearing her gray office dress.

"Yeah, I came back early because it's the weekend. Here, I brought you a gift. I know you asked for this the other day, but I forgot until now."

"Eh? Ah, I can buy my own stuff, Mom. You didn't have to…"

Chris smiled cutely, playing the spoiled kid he'd always been, as he took the bag.

"Wait, what? No way you got me the Kuromina Hoodie?!"

His face lit up. It was a Kuromina-themed hoodie, one of the mascots from Riosan, a well-known Japanese company famous for cute mascots, the most popular being Hello Kitty.

The hoodie came in limited quantities, and Chris thought it had sold out.

"I thought they were sold out, though?"

"Yeah, I have my contacts. A good friend of mine works at the company that distributed them, and they saved me one."

"Aw, Mom, I love you!"

Chris hugged his mom and slipped on the hoodie, looking absolutely adorable.

"You look very cute, my little Chris."

His mother patted his head. She loved spoiling him rotten, a habit she'd had since he was born.

Despite her strict personality and demeanor, she was an endearing mother who felt happiest when spoiling her children and making them feel as privileged as possible.

"Alright, I'm going to log in now, Mom. I've got a lot to do online…"

"Will you log out for lunch, at least?"

"Ah, I think so? I'll try!"

"Fine…"

As Chris entered the VR Capsule, his mother closed the door.

Meanwhile, Paul was having a much different morning, in stark contrast to the lively mornings of Chris's life.
