Chapter 15: Trap of Thunderous Peak Sect

Near Corpse Domain, Region number 23

At this time, the sound of slashing and roar is echoing. 

Li Yuxong is using his Sword Slash and Sword Step to fight. Even his Spiritual Imprint Poplar Resilience has been activated.

Jin Lei and Cao Wei are supporting from the distance, while Ren Ying is dictating the weaknesses.

This is Bloodmoon spider, a grade 4 mid stage Beast!

"Attack at it's jaw, this is where it's Beastly Core is present. This beast will surely try to defend, and this would give enough time for Li Yuxong to attack at it's another weakness: It's eyes."

Ren Ying shouted.

Jin Lei and Cao Wei immediately shot a fire arrow, aiming at it's jaw. As expected, the Blood moon spider defended the attack, lowering it's guard against Li Yuxong.

Li Yuxong, taking this opportunity, immediately pierced it's both eyes, completely blinding it. But this is where it became even more dangerous.

After being blinded, the Bloodmoon Spider was unable to see and became agitated and started rampaging everywhere.

Ren Ying immediately shouted: "Retreat now"

Li Yuxong was shocked at sudden retreat instruction. But, he trusts Ren Ying and immediately retreated with others.

After retreating enough distance, Li Yuxong asked: "We could have finished it off, why retreat?"

Jin Lei interjected: "Here, in this forest areas, the Bloodmoon Spider isn't the only threat. We attacked it to protect ourselves, not because of some life and death feud."

Li Yuxong immediately realised.

'They are right. If we fought, even though our victory was guaranteed, we would have taken a huge risk and might have been exhausted. In that case, the other Beasts lurking around could be a threat that we can't even handle in that situation.'

Ren Ying said at this point: "Bloodmoon Spider's senses are very weak, it survives with the help of it's two eyes, which is why it's eyes are it's biggest weakness. After destroying it's eyes, it would enter in it's rage state. After this state ends, it will weakened for a period of time. We can sneak attack at that moment, completely killing it without exhausting our battle strength!"

"Not only that, it will be in weakened state for at least 6 hours and it's rage time is 1 hour, we can, thus, recuperate in the meantime."

Li Yuxong was surprised. "Did you thought all that when you asked Jin Lei and Cao Wei to attack at it's jaw?"

Ren Ying nodded. "I saw that you were struggling to maintain your Spiritual Imprint. So, I thought it would be dangerous if some other beast is alerted due to this fight."

Li Yuxong was surprised and his expression became heavy. 'Indeed, this time, I gave my all thinking we could handle rank 4 Beast. Just because we defeated the Blood-eyed Leopard, I became too proud. If it weren't for his strategy, it would have been dangerous. I didn't even save my stamina for that move, which is essential to run away in case of dangers.'

6 hours later

The Blood-moon Spider's corpse was lying there. This time, the Beastly Core was given to Jin Lei and Cao Wei, while other precious materials of it's corpse were split between Ren Ying and Li Yuxong.

Ren Ying said: "Just give me it's head, you can take all others."

Li Yuxong has no problem, and he agreed.

After dividing everything, they started discussing their further journey.

Ren Ying said: "According to the info, we are near the Corpse Domain. Since the information is only vague, we can only use our own methods to find it. But, we are near it that is for sure. Let us split and find it. In case anyone encounters danger, they would use some attack in the air, and every other member would return immediately for help. Same goes for the case if someone finds the Corpse Domain." 

He paused, before pointing to few directions and continuing "Li Yuxong, you go into that direction, and I will go in this one. Jin Lei and Cao Wei will search in the remaining one"

Li Yuxong and others nodded.

In this way, Li Yuxong split with them and started searching in one of the direction. He remembers the words of Ren Ying describing the Corpse Blossom.

'Corpse Blossom is a pale, sickly plant. Remember that it's petals are like decaying fish, it's stems twist like contorted limbs. It also emits a foul odor. It's leaves has dark veins. Corpse Domain can be identified with foul stench, caused due to rotting corpse of Beasts here.'

After separating, Li Yuxong started searching for the Corpse Domain, as he was moving, he found a cave, from where, he smelled a bloody stench.

'Is this the Corpse Domain?'

As he was thinking, a bright light flashed in the sky. Looking at it, Li Yuxong immediately ran towards the source.

Soon he reached, and found that there were various scattered bones everywhere, and foul stench spreading in the environment.

Ren Ying, Jin Lei and Cao Wei were already present.

Looking at a cylindrical shaped Spiritual Object in Jin Lei's hand, Li Yuxong judged he should be the one who used that signal.

Ren Ying looked at the situation, and laughed out loud. "Yes, we found the 1000 Spirit Stones"

Jin Lei looked at him and said sarcastically. "We still haven't found Corpse Blossom!"

Ren Ying also rebutted: "So what? We are in the Corpse Domain, as long as we enter, we would definitely find it."

Saying that, Ren Ying immediately entered without hesitation.

Jin Lei said annoyingly: "Not again, at least think about the danger."

Li Yuxong smiled. "He is always so cheerful, unless he encounters survival in forest areas."

Jin Lei nodded and also entered with others.

As they kept moving, soon they found the Corpse Blossom. Ren Ying immediately ran towards with a laugh.

Jin Lei thought of something and shouted: "Stop"

Ren Ying paused and looked backward at him. Li Yuxong and Cao Wei were also puzzled.

Jin Lei said. "Don't you think it's weird?"

Li Yuxong was confused. "What's the problem?"

Jin Lei said solemnly. "If the Corpse Blossom was so easy to obtain, why didn't the Thunderous Peak Sect disciples, who gave the information about it, didn't pick it up when they encountered it first?"

Li Yuxong was also surprised and more he thought about it, more he felt something is wrong here.

Jin Lei added another shocking news. "When I picked this task, I was reminded that it is very dangerous, and few Warriors already died on the way. I thought it was mainly due to the beasts they encountered mid way, but now that I think about it, it may be a scheme of Thunderous Peak Sect!"

Li Yuxong also felt he was right.

As they were thinking, suddenly a bright purple light flashed, surrounding them completely.

Cao Wei was the first one to react. "Get out of here."

But, it was already too late. Jin Lei and Li Yuxong's face become serious. 

At that moment, many Thunderous Peak Sect disciples appeared.

"Caught another group, there are four fishes this time. This should be enough to completely ripen the Corpse Blossom fruit."

Li Yuxong felt chill when he realised the cruelty. He was also angry but he looked at Jin Lei and asked. "What should we do?"

He was also thinking at the same time. 'I don't want to expose my dual Spiritual Imprint, but I have no other choice if I want to survive.'

Jin Lei's face was heavy, but before he could speak Ren Ying interjected. "Who are you calling fishes? I dare you, open this formation. I will show you who is the fish and who is the prey."

Jin Lei looked at Ren Ying blankly, and commanded Cao Wei: "You try to break the formation secretly."

Li Yuxong looked at Cao Wei in surprise: "You are formation master?"

Jin Lei nodded. "He is rank 3 formation master. This formation looks like a grade 3 formation used to trap people."

Cao Wei who was silent all this time transmitted his voice to each of them. "I have already broken this formation, but didn't disclose the facade. Just tell me when you are ready, and I will break this formation immediately."

In this world, after reaching a certain realm, everyone only use Spiritual Essence to speak.
