Fatherhood

Liam's POV:

As I stepped inside the gate of the Packhouse, I was met by Anastasia, her usual unemotional expression firmly in place.

She's dressed in a black suit, her long black hair framing her face, her fair skin accentuating the dead look in her wide, pretty eyes.

"Where were you?" she asks, her voice flat.

My heart skips a beat as I meet her gaze.

It hits me like a ton of bricks— I'm pregnant with her child.

A rush of conflicting emotions floods through me.

On one hand, there's a warmth, a sense of fulfillment at the thought of carrying our baby.

But on the other hand, there's uncertainty and fear.

Anastasia has made it abundantly clear that she despises the idea of having children.

I don't know if she'll accept me as her fated mate, let alone embrace the idea of becoming parents together.

I freeze in place, grappling with the weight of this revelation.
