Chapter 1132: Jack’s Double Kill

The incident finally came to an end.

The series of events triggered by the three masterminds — Michel Roa Valdamjong, Fabro Chaos, and Araya Souren — had been resolved.

The entire process couldn't be described as either good or bad, and the outcome wasn't exactly perfect. The exact intention behind how the three planned to use the Greater Grail remained unclear, but with their deaths, everything began to fade away.

Just as Shinji had said when he first met Roa: No matter the reason or conspiracy, once the main culprits are dead, everything turns to nothing.

"It's over."

Touko exhaled a smoke ring and offered her cigarette case to Shinji.

"Want one?"

"Sure, let's consider it a tribute to these guys."

Shinji casually pulled out a cigarette. Before he could even inscribe the rune, Jack came running over, holding a burning stick (from a fire that Karna had started earlier).

"Daddy, light your cigarette."

Shinji was a bit taken aback before he moved his cigarette toward the flame and took a long, satisfying drag while patting Jack on the head.

"Jack-chan is becoming more and more thoughtful."

"Hehehehe."

Jack's eyes squinted into crescents as she laughed innocently.

To anyone just listening in, it sounded like a warm family moment between a doting father and daughter, but to outsiders, the scene looked rather strange.

Touko adjusted her glasses, her eyes flashing with curiosity: "Daddy? She's your… daughter?"

"Yeah, she's my daughter, Jack."

Shinji responded naturally, and Jack naturally held onto Shinji's hand, sweetly calling him:

"Daddy."

"Brother, what's going on here?"

Sakura, in her usual tone, asked the question. However, this time, it didn't carry her typical jealous tone.

She wasn't dense. It was obvious that something wasn't adding up here.

First, Jack appeared to be around ten years old, while Shinji was seventeen this year. When Shinji was seven... could he even function that way? Could he have fathered a daughter?

Second, while the silver-haired girl looked cute and harmless, Sakura's Master privileges indicated that she was a Servant, an Assassin, and the last missing Servant from the war.

"Well, this all started about five years ago…"

Shinji was about to explain his story, but Touko interrupted, ruining the moment.

"Sounds like a long story. Before you start, answer me this — who's the mother?"

This was a killer question.

The atmosphere immediately became awkward.

Sakura, Fujino, and the others began glancing around, their expressions taking on new meanings.

Shinji took a few more drags, his gaze inadvertently drifting toward Touko — You did that on purpose, didn't you?

Touko, puffing on her cigarette nonchalantly, responded with her eyes — Yes, I did it on purpose. So what?

Well, there wasn't much Shinji could do about it. Private punishments weren't something that could be brought up here, but he made a mental note to settle this with her later. Definitely later.

For now, he needed to find a way to handle the current situation. Since Jack appeared as an Assassin, who was her Master? They didn't seem to have any interest in the Grail and were very fond of Jack...

As Shinji thought this over, someone raised their hand.

"Artoria?"

Several people looked over in confusion.

Jack, ever cooperative, ran over and leaped into the arms of a certain someone.

"Ah, it's Mom Toria! The smaller version of Mom Toria!"

Artoria quickly dispelled her magical armor to avoid Jack hurting herself when she collided with her.

"I've told you before, I'm not smaller. I've always been like this. That time with Lancer was because Merlin modified my Saint Graph."

"Hehehe, but Mom Toria is beautiful in any form, just like Sister Mordred."

"That's because we look the same."

Artoria reached out and pinched Jack's cheek. The overflowing maternal aura at that moment left everyone stunned, making them all wonder the same thing.

Was this child King Arthur's? Mordred had already appeared, after all.

Among the group, Irisviel was the most inquisitive and directly asked the question.

Artoria shook her head and denied it, repeating the explanation Shinji had once given:

"Jack's birth is quite special. She isn't a single individual but rather a manifestation of the concept of children who were never born due to various circumstances. So, when she sees women she likes, she calls them Mom."

"That was when we didn't know any better. Now, we only call the women related to Daddy Mom. There seem to be a few new moms here, hmm…"

Jack quickly corrected herself and sniffed around, starting to circle the room one by one. Despite the common-sense teachings from Shinji and Reika, her instinct to seek out mothers remained strong. To her, the more mothers, the better.

The first person she approached was…

"Ah, you must be Mom… Daddy just called you Rin? So, you're Mom Rin."

With that, Jack launched herself into a signature hug, burying her face in Rin's chest.

Rin was stunned.

She never expected Jack to come to her.

She had never been in a relationship, wasn't even an adult yet, and while she had an over-decade-long entanglement with Shinji, she never imagined Jack would come to her first. Did she… did she look old?

At this very moment, Luvia chimed in with a teasing remark:

"Well, say something, the child's calling you — Mom. Rin.!"

The last two words, delivered in a mocking tone, were like three sharp swords, stabbing through Rin's head, throat, and heart, leaving her trembling.

Meanwhile, Sakura's strange gaze felt like salt being rubbed into the wound.

Rin felt like she was about to lose it, but she reminded herself not to. She had to stay calm.

The child wasn't at fault; the blame lay with the parents who hadn't taught her properly, and with those who just loved to stir the pot.

After gritting her teeth and snapping at Luvia, "Shut up!", she gave Sakura a reassuring look, then mentally added another grievance to her growing list against Shinji. Finally, she forced herself to smile warmly at Jack and said:

"Well, um, while I'd love to have a child like you, I have to say, I'm not your mother. I don't have any relationship with that guy."

"Is that so?"

Jack tilted her head, then sniffed again.

"But Mom Rin smells like Daddy, and it's a really strong scent."

At that moment, Rin finally understood Jack's criteria: "That's because your Daddy was injured earlier, and I carried him for a long time. It'd be strange if I didn't smell like him."

"Is that so?"

Jack tilted her head again.

"That's exactly it." Rin nodded hastily.

"So I'm not your mother. If you want, you can call me—"

"—Aunt Rin." Luvia interrupted again.

Rin wasn't one to back down: "Then you're Aunt Luvia. Jack, greet her."

"Aunt Rin, Aunt Luvia."

Jack obediently followed instructions.

Rin: "..."

Luvia: "..."

For two genuine seventeen-year-old young ladies, being called Aunt was just as lethal as being called Mom.

In the end, both were left defeated.

Double Kill!
