The remaining students along with Zedric, Skydon, Frizle and Lucas formed a line in front of the floating crystal ball.
The student on the front most of the line reached out his hand to touch the floating crystal ball. No reaction. The student's facial expression turned from excitement to being downcast. He left the plaza in dejection.
The next student is a female from Senior High Year 2 wearing glasses with blonde short hair. She reached out her hand to touch the floating crystal ball. A burst of white brilliance illuminated the plaza.
"Student Kathrina Pavlov, you're qualified for the next stage."
Mr. Xavier spoke calmly. His statement made student Kathrina Pavlov jump around in elation.
After a few moment of celebration, she proceeded to wait on the sidelines.
The process continued until it was Zedric's turn to touch the floating crystal ball. He reached out his hand and touched the floating crystal ball.
[Ding!]
[Detecting a mysterious power analyzing the Host's DNA!]
[Activating Self-Defense Mechanism...]
Zedric couldn't help but be surprised and anxious. The crystal ball is not reacting at all! Zedric is confused about whether he doesn't have the compatibility with the Moondragon Bloodline or if the system interfered with the process and thus the floating crystal ball made no reaction.
A few seconds later, the floating crystal ball remained unresponsive.
"Student Zedric Luiz, you're eliminated from the competition. Please proceed to your classroom."
Zedric walked away, quite disappointed with what happened. He tried communicating with the system internally.
"Hey system, what did you just do? I feel like it's your fault that I got eliminated from the competition."
[Ding!]
[Detecting Inquiry from the Host!]
[Processing Response...]
[The System activated the Self-Defense Mechanism to protect the Host's DNA information from being stolen.]
Zedric frowned. Doesn't that mean that the floating crystal ball tried to steal his DNA information in order to form a judgement whether he is compatible with the Moondragon Bloonline or not?
Zedric decided to ask the system again.
"System, what happens if my DNA information has been stolen? Does that harm me in any way?"
[Ding!]
[Detecting Inquiry from the Host!]
[Processing Response...]
[Host's DNA information contains all biological data of Host, which means that the Host's strength and weaknesses, including information regarding Hosts Magical Arts and Magical Spells will be known to those that holds the Host's DNA information.]
[The system suggests that Host's DNA information remain confidential.]
Zedric feels unsettled. He's not quite sure about how to react to this situation. Nevertheless, there's no use crying over spilled milk. Since it happened already, Zedric can only accept the situation as it is.
He arrived at his classroom and saw his classmates who had the same fate of being eliminated from the competition. Some of them are having conversations, others are reading their lecture notes, while the rest are staring into the blue, feeling disappointed about dropping from the competition.
Zedric sat on his seat and waited for time to pass by.
Meanwhile, on the school plaza of Azure Sky Academy, the competition continued.
Frizle, Skydon, and Lucas, along with over a dozen students passed the second stage of the competition.
"The third stage of the competition is a combat stage. The ten students who can manage to emerge victorious from this stage will become part of the Dragons Arise Program."
"The combat stage will be a battle royale, only the last ten students who remain standing in the school plaza will be the winners."
The remaining students eyed each other cautiously.
"The third stage starts now! Fight!"
The remaining over a dozen students started distancing themselves from each other. Suddenly, Frizle Niche attacked another student using the magical spell Telekinesis. Stones and Pebbles floated and started hitting the targetted student. The student activated his magical spell Psychic Barrier. The stones and pebbles started hitting the barrier again and again. The Psychic Barrier is good at defending Psychic attacks but Physical attacks are its weakness. The Psychic Barrier started cracking from the barrage of stones and pebbles.
Another student used the same tactic and used Telekinesis to lift pebbles and stones and attack the surrounding students.
The over a dozen students started fighting each other haphazardly. The first to be eliminated was the student who was attacked first by Frizle Niche. Soon, student after student got eliminated one by one until only ten students remain standing.
The ten students include Frizle Niche, Lucas Gray, Kathrina Pavlov and Skydon Go. Skydon was lucky to learn the magical spells Telekinesis and Psychic Barrier which he utilized to last until the last minute.
With that, the competition came to an end.
"Please proceed to your classrooms as the competition for the membership of the Dragons Arise Program has ended."
