Chapter 22:"Family Dinner and Forest Safety"

Chapter 22: "Family Dinner and Forest Safety". Wilhelm was somewhat exhausted from picking up Nathaniel after kindergarten. He greeted his grandmother. Nathaniel was permitted to stay in the living room. There he could draw. Wilhelm entered his room to change his clothes.

Wilhelm reported at dinner what he had heard that day in school. He spoke of a middle school girl concretely. She was attacked by a wolf. It happened in a forest behind the school. Grandma listened with much attention to the story. She then warned Wilhelm, "Be cautious taking your friends into the forest. One never knows what the wilderness may have in store. You may run into a bear. You could come across other dangerous animals by mistake."

Wilhelm nodded in understanding. His message clear, "I know Grandma. We always stay on the trails. We avoid going too deep into the forest."

Grandma's smile grew broader. "Good to hear that. Remember this always be aware of surroundings. Take necessary precautions. If you ever encountered with dangerous animal, keep in mind, stay calm, slowly back away. Let's not take any moment of wild nature for granted."

The nod from Wilhelm was one of loyalty. "I understand Grandma. We make it a point always to stick to trails. We shun going too far into woods."

Grandma radiated kind smile. "I'm pleased to hear that. However never forget to be in perceptiveness of what surrounds you. Necessary cautions should be taken. And should you come across dangerous creature? Be sure to keep tranquility. Slowly retreat."

Grandma speaks in hushed confidence, mentioning continued devotion to safety. The jolly old soul shone bright as she repeated her wisdom of being present."You must be aware of the environment, my child. Always take the right measures."

Wilhelm nodded in familiar smile."Yes Grandma. We adhere to trails. And we never go too deep into forest either."

Grandma's smile broadened. "A good practice. Remember always surroundings matter be careful. And if you ever encounter dangerous animal, remain calm back away but do so slowly."

Willhelm reassured Grandma. He suggested he'd always be careful. He further added he'd look out for his friends as well. The two continued enjoying a shared dinner. Nathaniel then chimed in. He added his own stories from kindergarten.

At the final bites of meal, Grandma commented, "It is important to enjoy nature. At the same time, we must treat nature with respect. Wild animals live in this habitat; our stay is only temporary. We must listen to the impact we have on animals' home." Wilhelm nodded in agreement. He thanked Grandma for her wise words.

On the last comment from Grandma, he quipped, "I shall indeed treasure your advice." He said it would stick in his mind. Moreover, it would take precedence whenever he moved through forest's trails.
