Over the weekend, Wilhelm and his friends had spent all their time to rehearse for the school play so they had to give up their accustomed morning gathering to come to school for the first rehearsal early.
His mother Inger had some reservations about it, of course. She was afraid that her son could be lost during these hours of drama practice but she found a way out. She took a decision to do him a favour by preparing the breakfast for him to take at school
"Here you go Wilhelm " Inger said as she handed him a bag filled with a sandwich, fresh fruit and a bottle of water. "It's important that you eat all of this to stay energized and hydrated during practice."
Wilhelm was genuinely thankful for his mother's thoughtfulness and her doing this for him; "Thanks, Mom," he said appreciatively, adding, "I'll get everything done and I won't let it distract me at practice."
Wilhelm reached the School building and there met his mery friends that to rehers for the Act. They were alive with impatience of begining y e talkings of the day would not last long, and their sleeply cheekes Showed y t they had expected it.
"Hey!" Wilhelm called over to his friends. He loved being around them. "Did all of you get enough sleep? You know, more sleep means better work." "Like that was possible," Lena replied, stifling a yawn. "But we have no choice — the show's not far off now."
The spent the morning reading and learning their parts. It was hard work but they all wanted to be as good as they possibly could. During half an hour those of them who were not needed gathered gloomily round a table in the hall where Inger had cooked breakfast for Wilhelm, and laughed and talked together.
"This sandwich is really good," Göran said, taking a bite.
"I know, right?" Wilhelm said and grinned. "My Mom cooks the best."
Lena nodded, "Thats sweet of her to make you breakfast. You have a good mom."
Wilhelm smiled. He was lucky indeed! "I know. I'm really lucky."
After eating breakfast they continued to work, they had to practice and get their scenes right. It was a long day and tiring day but they all knew it would be worth it in the end and everything they worked hard for would finally be here, when they got on that stage at school.
