It's Weekend!

Kiara's eyes fluttered open to the rising of the sun, A sense of urgency gripped her as she glanced at the clock, only to find that the time for work had seemingly slipped away.

In a sudden burst of panic, she propelled herself from her partially kept bed, sheets tousled in the wake of her haste.

With swift determination, she navigated through her living space, the soft carpet beneath her feet offering a comforting contrast to the ticking seconds.

The bathroom door swung open, and Kiara, now fully aware of the impending lateness, seized her toothbrush with a determined grasp.

However, in the midst of her frantic morning routine, a realization dawned upon her. A brief pause ensued as she stared at herself in the mirror, toothpaste-laden brush in hand.

"Uhhhhhgh, it's the weekend," she exclaimed, her palm meeting her forehead in an exasperated slap.

A quiet chuckle escaped her lips as she stood there, caught between the residual urgency and the sudden reprieve of a free day. "Oh... that could be the only reason I slept this long; my brain must have calculated," she mused in a soliloquy, a mix of amusement and relief coloring her voice.

Having brushed away the remnants of morning panic, Kiara swiftly completed her dental ritual. She retraced her steps back to the bedroom, where the disheveled sheets invited her for a moment of respite.

With a wry smile, she decided to indulge in the luxury of additional sleep on this unexpected weekend morning, the soft embrace of her bed beckoning her back into its comforting cocoon.

The Hernandez household was stirred as the clear sound of a bell echoed through their home. A diligent worker promptly made their way to the door to investigate the source. There stood the delivery man, a package in tow.

"The delivery man is here," the worker announced, prompting an inquiry from Darren's mom. "Did anyone take an order for anything?"

In response, Darren's mom, inquisitive, instructed, "Ask who it's from."

Curiosity lingered as the worker engaged with the delivery man. "Who is it from?" she questioned, seeking to unravel the mystery.

The delivery man, cryptic in his reply, stated, "It's anonymous. You're just to sign here and here," using his fingers to gesture where the required approval was needed.

"Okay," she acknowledged, signing and accepting the mysterious parcel into her possession.

Curiosity persisted as Darren's mom inquired, "Were you able to find out who sent it?"

"He said it was anonymous," the worker responded, a nonchalant shrug and a furrowed brow reflecting the lack of concern for the sender's identity.

Pressing forward, Darren's mom questioned, "To whom was it sent?"

"Mr... Darren... Hernandez," she read aloud from the inscription on the package.

"Ah, that must be for Darren," Darren's mom concluded, piecing together the puzzle of the unexpected delivery.

"This is for you, Mrs Hernandez found Darren on his bed, engrossed in his laptop as she took the parcel unto Darren,

"From who? " Darren tried to figure out from his mom.

"No one knows yet"

"You have to open it , maybe you could get a clue".

"Alright thanks Mom", Darren said as she made her way out.

"Hey HD,

What's up, buddy?

What's crackin', dude? Hope life's treating you well. So, guess who's pulling your leg with this surprise? Yep, it's yours truly. Got this low-key house party lined up in a few months, and you're getting the special invite, my man! Stuffed two tickets in there – one for you and another for whoever you wanna drag along. And hey, don't stress, I know you're not ridin' solo; just had to poke fun at your single status a bit.

Threw in two shirts too. Wear 'em or ditch 'em, your call. Take it easy, bro. Can't wait to see your mug at the party!

"With a smile on his face Darren opened the rapped box and took out the stuffs inside.

"Who does he think I am" Daren said with a playful smirk.

"I'm just not interested in any frickin* lady" Darren said in disgust.

"I'm gonna prove to you Rex that I'm definitely not the single nigga you've always seen me as", he added as he prepared for Kyle's apartment.

The alarm, relentless in its beeping, disrupted Kiara's attempt to embrace more sleep.

With groaning, she silenced it, acknowledging that her time for slumber had come to an end at 10 am. In an effort to shake off her drowsiness, she headed to the bathroom for a rejuvenating shower. However, her morning took an unexpected turn when a message from Kayla brightened her phone screen.

"Hey, Kiara, how about treating ourselves to a spa day today? It could be a fantastic way to spend quality time together. What do you think?"

The excitement in Kayla's message resonated with Kiara, prompting a smile as she replied, "Ok, then I'll drop by your place, and we can go together from there."

Meanwhile, a change in Darren's routine brought a playful interaction with Kyle.

Instead of the usual unannounced entry, Darren decided to ring the bell. Kyle, surprised by the courtesy, checked the door camera, confirming Darren's identity before opening the door.

"Hey buddy, you finally thought that you should knock at my door this time?" Kyle teased.

"Pff, it's just for today. Thought I should try playing it gently for a while. Now, could you move out of the way?" Darren replied, playfully pushing Kyle aside.

As Darren settled on the couch, he brought up the message from Rex. "Did you also get a message from Rex?" he asked, scanning the room for any signs.

"No, I didn't. Why do you ask?" Kyle inquired.

"You might be getting one soon," Darren hinted, handing over a paper to Kyle.

Reading Rex's comments about his love life, Kyle burst into laughter. "For real, guy, you need to do something about this. You can't keep on being comfortable with this 'no girl' situation."

Nonchalant, Darren responded, "I don't see why I should do something about that. I'm more concerned about chasing my dad's business at the moment.

But I gotta do something temporarily, especially when I go to his house party. He needs to understand that I am also capable of having a girl."

Kyle scoffed, raising a skeptical brow. "What do you think you can do to solve that equation? Anyway, we could discuss that later. About to hit the gym, you wanna go along?"

"Dressed like this?" Darren retorted, looking at himself.

"Don't worry, I got you. Got extra wear for you." Kyle assured, hinting at an unexpected twist in their day.
