As Kyle guided the first lady into the house, Darren eagerly stepped forward, his eyes alight with anticipation.
"Hi, I'm Darren," he greeted her warmly, flashing a charming smile, hoping to leave a favorable impression.
"Nice to meet you, Darren," she replied politely, her smile reserved, her tone distant yet courteous. "Thank you for having me over."
Kyle gave them some space as he entered into the room.
Despite his determination, Darren's attempt to engage in conversation and establish a connection fell flat, leaving him feeling deflated by the awkward and stilted interaction.
After the lady left, Kyle emerged from his hiding spot. Darren turned to him with a frustrated sigh. "That didn't go as planned," he said, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
Kyle gave Darren a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. "Hey, don't sweat it, buddy. There are plenty more where that came from," he said, trying to cheer him up.
