"Hey! What are you two up to?" Nolan inquired as he walked over to them.

Kiara let out a playful groan, with frustration in her voice. "We've been chasing that ultimate prize forever, and I keep telling Kayla it's pointless. But she won't listen, making me play over and over!"

"Alright, let me give it a shot," Nolan said.

They kept at it for another two minutes, striving to claim the elusive teddy bear, their determination refusing to wane.

"I told you, Nolan, this is pointless," Kiara giggled, soon followed by laughter from all of them as they found amusement in their repeated failed attempts.

Darren couldn't help but watch as Kiara and Nolan chatted away, his mind unable to shake off the feeling of jealousy creeping in. The more he tried to ignore it, the more obvious their closeness became, leaving him feeling left out and uneasy.
