As Kayla joined Nolan, he turned to her with a questioning gaze and asked, "Where's Kiara? I thought she was with you."
"She's over there somewhere," Kayla replied, gesturing vaguely in the direction she had left Kiara.
"She said we should go ahead and leave, that she'll catch up later." Kayla's words were laced with a subtle hint, encouraging Nolan to depart without further delay, her intention clear: to grant Kiara and Darren a moment of privacy, free from prying eyes.
"Okay, if she said so, then I guess we should be off," Nolan replied.
Meanwhile, Darren was still trying to get his words out, but they just wouldn't come. Kiara, on the other hand, couldn't even look him in the eye, her gaze wandering off somewhere else, her face turning a little pink.
The silence between them was getting pretty awkward.
"Umm, do you mind if I drive you home?" Darren asked, his voice laced with a hint of nervousness.
