Norman's face fell, his eyes widening in dismay as he realized his precious cigarettes were truly gone.
Madelyn's expression turned from triumph to concern as she watched Norway slink away, his shoulders slumped in defeat.
"Norman, wait!" she called out, her voice softening.
"How long would you indulge in this self-destructive behavior? Is this really what would make you happy?"
She took a step forward, her eyes pleading with him to listen.
But Norway just shook his head, his voice laced with bitterness.
"Yes, it is, and why are you here at this time?" He muttered, his words trailing off as he disappeared into his room.
Norman spun around, his eyes flashing with anger, as Madelyn followed him into the house.
"I left my bag in your room, and I came to get it," she explained, But Norway's expression twisted in resentment.
