Did You Get The Letter?

"I just want to see you achieve certain milestones, and getting married is one of them.

I want to see you find happiness with someone, and maybe even have children, before...before I'm no longer here to see it."

Just then, Mrs. Hernandez, who had been listening in from the next room, burst in, her presence sudden and unexpected.

"Shhh, honey, don't say that! No one is dying, and especially not you! Just because you've been diagnosed with an illness doesn't mean it's the end of the world for you! You're strong and capable," Mrs. Hernandez said, her voice filled with a mix of reassurance.

Darren hesitated for a moment, then looked at his father with a determined expression.

"Dad, if that's what you really want, I'll do it. I'll get married soon," he said, his voice firm and resolute.

With that, he stood up, his eyes locked on his father's, and walked out of the room, heading to work.
