"Hopefully, it's not that bad." Fenris chuckled, making Kanaru pause for a bit. Since he stood with his back facing the people, only Kanaru could see how Fenris gave him a reassuring smile. He then leaned down and whispered in Kanaru's ear, "Sweetie, let's play a game. I'm going to explain the rules in detail soon, but for now, let's evade talking as much as possible."
Kanaru, however, moved his head to look up at Fenris's smile toward him. The king then made a shushing gesture before straightening his back. He said in his neutral tone despite the smile, "How long do you need for the broadcast?"
Something was wrong, but Kanaru didn't know what it was. He was so sure that Fenris didn't know him anymore, yet this king was smiling at him the same way he did. Fenris also spoke to Dio earlier like normal. He didn't know what was happening—something was surely not adding up.
