Expect Me Not to Loathe You

"What are you doing here, Dio?"

"That's not how you say 'thank you,' Fen—what the fuck?" Dio huffed again before facing the king's ward, but he saw Fenris's face filled with yellowish slimy liquid. "What happened to your face? Ew, that looks so gross. Don't get anything on me."

Fenris only pulled on his lips, but he was busier wiping the pus off, lest he taste it. "Don't address me too lightly. Only a few people knew. But that's not my problem with you right now."

Dio tilted his head to the side. "What? Did I outshine you? Sorry, I thought the great you would have taken care of these things in an instant. So? What do you want?"

Instead of a friendly gesture, Fernis grabbed Dio's collar and pulled him close. With Dio's face inches away from Fenris, those ocean-blue eyes almost turned blood-red. Fenris glared down at him as he spoke in a scary tone: "What part of 'stay with Kanaru and protect him' did you fail to understand?"
