The Adventures of Ess and Mutant Thingie

"You're tougher than I thought," said Ess. He lifted the little mutant again, only with his hands this time. It really hadn't tasted a lick of damage from his punch.

Everyone behind him was flabbergasted.

Ess took a good look at the wolfish mutant's little chitin-covered legs. They were harder than steel and they ended in bulbous prongs with sharp claws.

"It didn't take you long to find your way back here too. You're quick on these little legs too," Ess said and chuckled. The little thing panted harder and licked his wrist. There was some impressive intelligence in its six, glowing green eyes.

He dropped the little thing and looked onward. After giving a thoughtful hum, he turned to Curse and the rest.

"I think I'll go on ahead. If I don't return to meet you, then you'll know I found the Parasite's head," Ess said, and then he looked down at the wolfish mutant. "Follow me if you can."
