Fated

Elias's recovery in the hotel went well. Eventually, he was able to walk again. But work caught up to him. The couple checked out of the hotel they were in and traveled to Reykjavik, the capital city of Iceland.

There, they checked into another hotel and settled there. 

"Are you ready?" Maddison asked as she fixed her hair in the mirror. 

It had been a while since they got to go out on a date. Maddison was beyond excited to try out one of the many restaurants on the main street. Elias came up to her, wrapping his arms around her from behind. 

When she saw his frown in the mirror, she knew something was up. She gently placed her hand on his. 

"What's wrong?" She asked. 

Elias clenched his jaw as he leaned his chin on her shoulder. 

"Work calls."

The smile she had disappeared in a flicker of a second. She turned around to face him, with her arms wrapped around his neck. 

"But you promised…" She said before biting her lip.
