Meeting

"Give me your phone," Elias turned back to ask Maddison.

She gave it to him without hesitation. There was no use resisting. There was no need either. Maddison watched as Elias slipped both phones into his pocket. When he turned back to face her, she realized he was covered in red paint.

Some of it had gotten onto his face, splattered across his face.

"Were you hurt?" He asked, his voice strained with worry.

It ached her heart. Despite all that was happening, he didn't care about anything else. He cared the most about her. Tears welled up in Maddison's eyes. At that moment, she felt the love Elias had for her.

She couldn't stop the tears no matter how hard she tried. She kept wiping them away as best she could to no avail.

"Maddy? What's wrong, sweetie?" He asked, now more worried than ever.

"Elias… you… you…," She couldn't even piece a sentence together!
