Arrangements

Alastor wondered for a few moments about what he should do. The girl was so easy for him that he felt alarmed.

"Vian, your lovely reputation is on the line. Along with a gift from me. I would be in my room waiting for the news, I do hope you will make the right decision."

Not like she actually even refused from her current position, but it was to make sure that she would not hesitate. The way to take control over people was easy.

Offer them a reward while threatening them with a punishment.

Not only will you gain their satisfaction with the reward, but you also will make them unable to laze around due to the punishment.

Saying his last piece, Alastor left the room. Unknown to him, Vian was already falling deeper into his pit without the need of any of this.

Vian was born with a sensitive nose. She was able to smell mana. The mana usually did not affect her much. Aside from the Psychic Mana, as those always mess up with her head.

This time around, it was the first time ever she smelled some mana like that. The Chaotic Mana that ran through Alastor's veins were drawing her in.

She was not an idiot, that was not love. But a simple desire to be close to him and to make him look at her alone. Such a unique being, such a marvelous scent, her whole being wanted to own him.

'Gosh, calm down Vian! No intrusive thoughts allowed…'

Biting her lip, she forced herself to calm down. For now, she was going to focus more on her small mission. It was not that hard, she just needed to give some 'gifts' for the Instructor that was responsible for it.

'Who was the Instructor again?'

Calmly leaving her room and walking towards the main building. The Instructors usually stayed in their offices in the main building of the Academy, and rarely lived outside of it.

Only the high ranking nobles had decided to live in a different place, a mansion near the Academy was not impossible to find. Hard, yes, but impossible? No.

Taking a quick glance over the names of the Instructors and their students, Vian scrunched her face up.

"This is, urgh…"

Alastor's Instructor was not one of the highest ranks, however, he was truly one of the most difficult to deal with.

'Many people had bribed him before, he may not accept a random one. I must be careful with it.'

What kind of bribe would he accept? Fame, wealth, and such seemed to be easy to have. He should have plenty of it. So, the solution was easy for Vian.

"A deal it is, then."

No one had said she would actually follow that deal, though. Vian let Alexander sit on her shoulder once she arrived at the main building. After a short while, she found the Instructor's office and, without even bothering to knock, barged in.

"Hey," Vian waved casually.

The Instructor hurriedly sat straighter, he gazed at Vian's shoulder anxiously. Making her chuckle internally, he was just another one.

Blinded by the outer appearance, and completely ignorant to the truth.

"Hello, Instructor. May I have a word with you?"

On the other hand, Alastor was now meditating in his room. The Chaos Mana was roaring in his veins. Something was wrong with this body, and through his conversation with Evan, he knew what was that.

A high level spell that was supposed to create an additional Magic Circle- such a thing was too good to be true, but the previous Alastor was deceived.

Which was also unfortunate for him. He was actually pressed, he did not do this willingly.

Evan and Alastor were stuck in the deep part of the ruins of the Ancient Area of the Academy. It was normally relatively safe, but Evan had activated a trap by mistake.

The trap had locked them in, with monsters that were as strong as Five Magic Circle's Mages…

Both of them were strong but they were merely 3 Circles Mages. How could they fight against a 5 Circles level? Due to desperation, Alastor had tried this spell.

The spell was magnificent. It was legit and created an extra Circle for Alastor, who used his newfound power to kill those monsters and escape.

But after that, all of the Circles in his body cracked. From small cracks, the damage slowly but surely spread. That was how Alastor's body was like that now.

The Chaos Mana tried to repair those damaged Circles, but it was interrupted by that mysterious Magic Item.

That had caused the Chaos Mana to erupt through his veins and destroy them even more. At this moment, his body was getting torn apart slowly but surely. In fact, at a faster pace than before even.

The second thing he needed to do after securing his ascension would be searching for the gemstone and using it. As much as he could use the particles of the air to draw the Magic Circles, that did not mean his body could withstand being tortured like that from the inside.

As for the first thing he needed to do,

'Ha. That funny Princess is silent now. Is she angry about my actions? But last time when she got upset about Vian, she sent me a message.'

So, if she was actually upset that much, Alastor was sure she would come to his door this time and perhaps even slap him across the face.

After a few minutes had passed, Alastor found himself standing in front of the shorter female. Her face was scrunched up and her hand was still in the air, shaking.

The tingling feeling Alastor felt on his cheek was foreign. Even before coming to this world, Alastor had barely felt any pain.

Arisa was huffing as she held her hand, she had never expected him to be this tough. Or maybe she was just too weak physically, in any case, she hated it yet felt oddly satisfied.

For Alastor who was watching her changing expression, that was a sight to scoff at. However, he refrained.

Arisa was arrogant by nature, she was a princess, a person who thought she owned her people. He could always indulge her a bit, just for a bit, though.

'And it'll be returned tenfold later, Arisa.'
