The memories of the past were always the worst. Haunting you no matter how hard you try to chase them away. Lingering at the back of your mind.

You were bound to hate them. It was like a Law.

Not because they were necessarily bad, but rather, it was because they were tormenting no matter their nature.

Sadness may break people's hearts. But they already passed it before. As for happiness… They would yearn for it, crave it, and chase behind it even if they could not live those memories again.

Alastor laughed bitterly.

He stared at his small hands and moved his body. It was not that hard for him to feel the mana around him dancing, creating an illusion like this.
