The End (pt.1)

The world was engulfed in black flame.

Zefe felt breathless as she looked around her, that was her first time being in somewhere like this. The only thing she could see was the flames surrounding them.

She clung closer to Alastor, feeling something weird inside of her. This time, instead of the fever, she was having a weird urge to throw up.

Her small hand covered her mouth, alerting Alastor. One glance at her made his eyebrows furrow.

'She's too pale.'

Zefe was getting paler with every moment, and Alastor could tell why.

'She is a part of this world. I am better because my soul is at least real. But Zefe….'

The rest of the sentence did not need to be said. But Alastor was already feeling regretful. The girl who had spent a long year with him before was starting to resurface in his head as he looked at the girl in his arms.

'I am a greedy person,' why did Alastor need to comply with those so-called rules?
