CHAPTER TWO: DECISION MADE
Why is it that most black parents just love to hit their child? So annoying!
Although, it is an act of scolding the child
My mom hates when someone talks nasty to her or ever act disrespectful to her, if it was her child that does that, she hits the child or scolds the child
I love my dad because he had never laid his hand on me
I looked at my mom as I walked backwards away from the dining chair using the dining table to support me
"Flower, you don't say that to your parents. It is so disrespectful" my dad said trying to calm my mom
My mom went to sit on her dining chair. I quickly used the opportunity to leave the dining chair
"I am sorry I said that. I just don't want to go to...." as I said that, I mistakenly hit the dispenser to the tiles floor
My dad and mom stood up to get the dispenser to stand
Half of the water from the dispenser had already poured on the floor before, dad made it stand
" Floral, you are so annoying" my mom said as she got a mop to clean the wet floor
I stood there looking speechless before my mom shouted at me "Go bring the mop bucket and stop standing there as if you were struck by lightning"
I quickly ran to get the mop bucket
After the cleaning, my mom still continued with her nagging "You are going to boarding school in Abuja and nothing will change it" my mom said as she sat on the dining chair already exhausted from my troubles"You just ruined dinner for us" she said with annoyance
My mom's annoyance is something I don't like to see because, she continues to nag
"I am sorry, but I don't think I can go to boarding school that far" I said to my mom as I avoided looking into her eyes
"Babe, can you calm down please. She made a mistake but, that doesn't mean she can go to boarding school that far" my dad said taking my side as he sat beside mom
"Which school do you think is suitable for her with that score she got?" my mom said looking at me up and down
I remembered, I scored above average but, why is mom talking as if I failed woefully
"She passed at least" my dad said and wow, dad thank you for that "She can go to the school Francis attends" my dad said as he looked at mom trying to convince her
Going to Francis school is going to be fun, I guess
Francis told me that, he is very famous and liked by many students in the school
I guess starting there will be so nice and cool for me and my high-school dreams will be come to pass
I always dreamt of having a high-school filled with popularity and love just like Korean female leads
My tablet is filled with Korean movies, I have been a fan from primary school
"Yeah mom, I will agree to go to boarding school if it is Francis's school" I said to mom assuring her about my agreement to go to boarding school this time to avoid nagging from her
"Okay then, I will change your first choice of school to his own school so that by next month, you will follow second batch to enter" My mom said as she drank water from the glass cup on the table before standing up to leave for her room
"I thank God that calmed her, Flower" my dad said smiling
"Yeah, thanks dad. You are the best" I said smiling as I cleared the dining table
My dad went to continue watching the match in the siting room
Well, to be sincere, I didn't enjoy the Amala this time and Amala is my best Yoruba swallow
After which I have cleaned the sink and the dining table, I left for my room to continue watching Love Alarm, a Korean movie that is overrated
The two male leads are really so handsome especially the tall one that is rich like this. I have forgotten his name, but I guess when I continue watching it I will remember
I just hope the female lead ends up with the rich handsome guy not the other male lead
I opened the door to my room and closed the door behind me as I entered
I jumped on my bed and removed my pillow to get my tablet, so I can watch the series movie
My classmates are fans of both Nollywood and Hollywood. Some of them hate Korean movie because they think it is a repetition movie and majority hate Bollywood movies because of the film trick. Lol
I am not them, at least I watch any movie that is trending except from movies that are not good for my age
Anyway, we are still young to decide
...----------------...
Days later...
My mom already got my uniforms tailored that includes; the school uniforms, house wear uniform, church wear uniform... All were ready
Socks, stationeries, box, school bag, hand bag for church and sandals and of course, who will forget slippers. Slippers are really something useful, she got me the bathroom slippers (flip on) and crocs
I sat on my bed as my mom sat on my room sofa as she arranged the stuffs and soaps, both bathing and washing soap, she bought into my box perfectly
She made sure my books and textbooks were in my school bag. I hope it will not be so heavy for me
Of course, she got me provisions and those were already arranged in my big bag as the Nigerians do call it 'Ghana must go'
My provisions consist of both cereals, biscuits, drinks, chocolates and beverages
Also, what is inside my big bag (Ghana must go) is my lotion cream and perfumes, they were packed in different nylons to not spoil the taste of the provisions
My loads were already ready for school, my mom took a deep breath as she put the big bag, my box and school bag by the side of my wardrobe
"By Sunday, you are going to resume so prepare for that" my mom said before she left for the door
I looked at the loads and rested my head on the bed with a sigh. Gosh!
