Chapter 7 Two Kings

The five ghosts which were sent by Lucifer soon reached their destinations. Out of the five three of them reached the Kingdom of Taro, It was the kingdom which was ruled by the Third Ghost King. The Kingdom was named after their King his Highness Taro. The Kingdom of Taro did not have a fort, like the City of Ether, the kingdom of Taro was not formed on human land. It was formed on a dark land. Before the establishment of the Kingdom of Taro, it was a land of death as human warriors were buried there.

There were no buildings in the land of Taro. There was only a dark void with a lake in the middle. The water of the lake was black and there were multiple whirlpools inside them. Ian and Sam were the ghosts who were given the task of spreading misinformation whereas Lela was given the task of collecting information.

Ian and Sam went inside the black lake and spread their intent, soon a whirlpool sucked them inside. As soon as the whirlpool touched them they lost their consciousness. When they became conscious they were in front of Taro, his presence was more intimidating than Lucifer's, there was a crown made of silver on his head, and his eyes were constantly crying, however, the tears were of golden light. His leaps were sealed by multiple pins.

He looked at them, not with an intimidating gaze but with a gaze of pity. His lips quivered with pain, it was as if he could feel their pain. Soon the tears turned dark and a smile grew wide. He snapped his fingers and both of the ghosts got covered in chains made of light.

"What is it that you wish to tell me?" asked Taro.

"The army of humans is ready and they will attack the frozen land in a week," said Sam.

Taro looked at them in amusement and asked " Why are you telling me this?"

"So that you can ambush them and kill them," said Ian.

"Hahaha, Do you think I the King of Taro am so weak that I would use deceit and tactics with these mere humans?"

"The talks of your strength are famous in every realm, we do not doubt them However we thought that you would be not interested in this little mission," said Sam.

The tears became grey, Taro looked at Sam and closed his eyes. The moment he did that his soul got ripped apart along with his consciousness. Soon he could feel the energy of a will from it.

"I killed him because he annoyed me, But my to think that humans are using wills and deceits, this is interesting," said Taro.

He got close to Ian and inserted his essence into him however as soon as he did that the will inside Ian exploded.

"To think that he is smart enough to make such preparations, Interesting, Did anyone else come from the city of Ether?" asked Taro.

" A girl named Lela came, My lord. However, she came way before these two."

"Okay, tell the army that we will be ambushing humans when they attack Frozen Land," said Taro.

"As you wish, My lord."

Soon the news of the ambush reached Lela she sent a part of her will to the City of Ether.

Meanwhile, in the hall Lucifer killed both ghosts, His subordinate Karl was asking for death for his incompetence. Lucifer released a beam that penetrated Karl's head and killed him.

As soon as he died, Lucifer absorbed all the light that was there in the room and sent his locked dark energy outside. Slowly, the soul of Karl formed and it started absorbing the energy of both ghosts along with the dark energy of Lucifer. After some time it was complete.

"Thank you for your Mercy, My lord." bowed Karl in his soul form.

"I think we can't kill the third King with light magic, You need to train in dark arts in case he is immune to light attacks you would be our trump card," said Lucifer.

" I will put my heart into this, my lord," said Karl.

Lucifer turned towards him and said "You no longer have it, start accepting your new form and start knowing it. Remember you're no longer human there is no need for good thoughts. The ghosts are tricky and smart. Even their bottom feeders were capable enough to deceive you. We can't underestimate the third king."

" I understand my lord, Please excuse me I will enter the dark chamber until the time of war," said Karl.

" Go and find your true nature, find the darkness and imbibe it in your soul. The next time I see you I should feel a threat. You have remains of two ghosts and my dark energy, use all of it well." said Lucifer.

With that, Karl entered the Dark chamber. A dark chamber was a chamber used by old ghosts to increase their dark affinity. They were specifically made to bring the worst out of someone's consciousness. Once a soul would enter it will suffer so much pain that Kindness, love, dreams, aspirations all of it would get sucked away. All that would remain would be hunger to grow stronger, lust to get all and greed to conquer everything.

When Karl entered he started feeling pain but soon his consciousness was attacked by the remains of two ghosts their madness started eating away his light, and once they consumed it they started attacking the core of consciousness however Lucifer's will acted as a guarding and subdued the ghosts soon they got completely imbibed in his consciousness along with Lucifer's will.

Within two days Karl had control of his soul, now he was as strong as the king of Ether in terms of raw power. However, he did not have any connection with his surroundings. The reason for this was outside the dark chamber there were multiple Light ores. So after meditating for a day more Karl Visited Lucifer to ask permission to go outside the city to make techniques. Lucifer allowed him however he realized that this Karl was different. He was not devoted to him. So he put a hidden will inside Karl which would get activated in case Karl try to harm him or any other humans.

Soon the news that Taro would ambush humans at the frozen land reached Lucifer. A wide grin spread across his lips.

"Finally, it's time to take the first step." thought Lucifer in his mind.

He released a will, it soon travelled to the land of Oden and reached Roan and screamed " It's time."

The whole Kingdom went standstill apart from the Knights who were trained by Roan, they closed their eyes, pulled out a dagger and stabbed their skulls. As soon as they did that the dark energy which was suppressed in them got released and slowly the land which was blessed once turned into land of ghosts. The darkness grew like wildfire and consumed the light ores slowly the suppressed dark energy got released from the light ores and the land turned into a land of dark. Once that happened golden clouds spread on the horizon the newly formed ghosts looked up and saw Lucifer on one of the birds. Before they could react a will penetrated them all it was not of Lucifer's but their own which wanted revenge on ghosts. As it was a negative emotion it did not get discarded and instead got imbibed in their consciousness.
