Chapter 20 Changes.

Slowly, the power that was pulling Lucifer towards the sky started fading. Lucifer started feeling anxious, he felt irritated and uncomfortable. The reason for that was his soul was now slowly getting adjusted to the rules of the world and as he was in the light chamber it was not feeling nice. After some time the pull completely vanished and the chains that were binding Lucifer vanished.

"Well, the good thing is now I know that the memories are real as the world treated me as a threat and made me kill my body. But my soul is too weak as most of its dark energy got destroyed in destroying the light energy." thought Lucifer.

Because of his deeds from previous worlds, Lucifer's dark energy was at level 12 right from the start. However, as he had been a light energy user as a human most of it got destroyed in nullifying the light energy and the rest of it got destroyed in making a protective layer around Lucifer so that light energy from the chamber wouldn't harm him.

"I have a war on me. I need to make things fast." Lucifer started moving towards the dark space where ghosts stayed. On his way he met many low-level ghosts he started absorbing them without any word. He could feel his soul, his will and his consciousness. These were the three things that made a ghost. Soul was like a body that held his consciousness and will. If the will of ghosts would get destroyed then they would lose their purpose and would become someone else's slave. If consciousness was destroyed then they would die and not even enter the cycle of reincarnation. If the soul would die then the consciousness would escape and enter the cycle of reincarnation by forming a new soul with no will.

The trick that Lucifer used after his death on his previous would be that he would protect his will as well as consciousness along with his soul and escape to a new world. However, he would hide his will in the deepest part of his consciousness and would have access to it only when his consciousness would reach a certain stage in the new world. Currently, as he reached level 12 all his previous will along with memories came back to him. As he was not a person with pure thoughts he had to Kill his human form and become a ghost.

After absorbing tons of low-level ghosts, Lucifer reached level 8. Levelling up for ghosts after level 8 was extremely hard they needed to absorb tons of consciousness and soul essence and discard their wills. However, Lucifer had an advantage, he had a strong will and because of that the hardest step where a ghost had to discard the will of the ghost they absorb was too easy for Lucifer as his ambition, his conviction were beyond worldly desires. So no matter what will one would possess Lucifer was capable of defeating it.

Soon, Lucifer reached Karl. He was meditating, and as soon as he felt Lucifer's presence he opened his eyes and looked at Lucifer. He was shocked, the war was upon them and at that time their god became a ghost the very thing they all hated and wanted to take revenge against.

"Why did you turn into a ghost?" Karl asked, his tone showed his displeasure.

"By looking at my level I guess you have lost the respect. How dare you question me? Screamed Lucifer.

Karl snorted and said " You killed us, you turned us into the very thing we hate. You controlled our wills. We did not ask anything. Roan died, and many young ones died. The whole land got converted into a ghost graveyard we did not question. The reason I'm questioning now is because you're level 8. The only humans whose souls start at level 8 when they die are the ones that had a very wicked mind, like me. You were at light energy level 11 and then too you managed to reach level 8. It clearly shows you're no God, no savior, you are a destroyer. You fooled us."

Lucifer looked at Karl and smiled "Take my soul and see my memories. You will understand why I'm a high-ranking ghost. This was my backup plan and with the shield, I had to use it."

Karl moved towards Lucifer cautiously, he kept his guard up and already had a few spells ready when he reached near him he dived into Lucifer's consciousness to see his will. The moment he entered he saw a big mountain on his soul and felt that his soul was getting crushed by that mountain. He wanted to escape that but could not. Lucifer started consuming Karl's will. Slowly, steadily he consumed all of it and then when there was no will. He put a new will inside him the one which made Lucifer his God again. After that, he ordered Karl to bring all low-level ghosts to him. Karl soon started bringing ghosts and Lucifer slowly started consuming them. He would weaken their soul with the help of Karl than destroy their wills and then would consume their soul essence and consciousness. His power started rising as the wills of other ghosts were not rebelling Lucifer's soul started growing at the same pace as it grew from level 7 to level 8.

Within a day before ghosts or humans of City of Ether could realize, Lucifer was already at level 10. And now growing up would be more hard as now to grow he would need to cause destruction and despair. He no longer can use deceit. Lucifer called Karl and informed him about his problem. Both of them started planning their next course of action.

At the other end the ghosts from the cave and the humans from the cave. Stark and Sire met both had weird expressions.

"When should we start?" asked Sire.

"Within 7 days, the destruction bombs would be fully charged again after that we can start. The walls around the city of Ether would come down in 5 days so you have to stall them for two days," said Stark.

"It would be hard. Because as soon as they would know that the ghosts are dead, they would get scared and would try to flee instead of fight," said Sire.

"Yes, that is the reason you all will go to the City of Ether as messengers. Each one of you would have a trap installed in them. This along with other traps would make them a hostage. We would give them only two options, which are either to fight us after 7 days or die just like that without fighting." said Stark
