Chapter 25 Time decay

The wills that were inserted in the bodies of Dean, Max and Sire by Karl started multiplying rapidly. Also due to pain, their whole attention was on their body and they had their guard down. Karl just kept on looking at them and did not take advantage of it. After a few minutes when they realized that the wills would destroy their body and soul, they started a soul cleanse. They came as messengers so they were sure that the human King wouldn't kill them he just wanted them to let go of any trap via soul cleanse.

As they had yet not met Lucifer the trap did not get active and as they had to meet him they started a soul cleanse. However, by doing soul cleanse their light essence dropped significantly and did not remain strong enough to initiate the trap. After a few minutes they were free of pain and both the wills were out of their bodies.

"This is how you treat messengers," said Sire.

"I'm sorry we're relatively new at playing Kingdom so I did what I felt like doing instinctively," replied Karl.

Three of them gazed at Karl, he was only level 10 but was strong enough to take down three of them the quality and strength of his will attacks were way ahead. Three of them found him interesting.

Some Kilometers away the ghosts looked at this scene through a celestial item and were amazed by the strength of the guard.

"He looks strong, he managed to drop three of them at their weakest state." said one of the ghosts.

"He is smart, the attack took three of them by surprise, he can become a great assassin. Make sure to not kill him along with the human King," said Stark.

Soon, the three humans were escorted inside the chambers, there was a big chandelier at the ceiling, there were light mirrors everywhere and far away on a golden stone sat a figure. The humans from the cave could just see his figure he was far away. They looked at him and bowed.

"Greetings, Lord Sun God. We are humans of the Empire, we come here in peace. We saw your battle and found your courage, strength and tactics above average and hence our King wishes to recruit you in his army. " said Max.

"Above average?" The figure looked at them his essence radiated his anger.

"Yes, you might not know but this place is one of the weakest zones, as there are not many light or dark materials here no one pays any attention to this place. We too were just travelling when we came across your battle. It drew our attention and we killed the ghost Kings." said Max.

"What is the level of your King?" asked the figure.

"He is at level 15 round 3, Like currently you're level 12 round 1 so he is 33 levels above you," said Max.

This news startled Lucifer, he was controlling the figure by possessing him. A realization stroked him that he was so weak even after so many years but he got over this news quickly and said " I'm willing to join but I have ghosts in my army I cannot leave them. They are fellow humans who sacrificed their lives to protect me and my Knights."

"For the ghosts which are there in your army, we have a plan, they would have to reach frozen land. The ghosts from our team would attack them there are only seven ghosts in our team and they would only use long-range attacks if they manage to survive and reach the frozen lake they can come," said Max.

"You have ghosts in your Empire too?" asked Lucifer.

"Yes, we do. In all Empires, humans and ghosts live together. However, our Empire is the only one with a human King. All other empires have ghost Kings." replied Max.

"What about humans which are there in my army?"

" We would make them join a recently found special division as they would be clear of any suspicion and would have high clearance because of lack of knowledge of the original world."

"Okay, I need a day to think about it and discuss it with my subordinates."

"Also you can be assured if any ghost would have good potential we won't kill them," said Max.

"Okay, Let us think, till then you can stay here in City of Ether as guest," said Karl.

Lucifer made the figure stand up and then destroyed its body. It gave an illusion that Lucifer vanished right before their eyes and it shocked them. The ghosts who were spying through celestial objects also felt a shock.

Soon the Knights took the humans from the cave out of their chambers and took them out of the castle. The reason the trap was not mentioned was that it looked like the human King would join them without any resistance and also their essence was low they needed time to replenish it and the best way to do it was to ask for time. So they drew the conversation in a way that Lucifer would ask for time. They talked with politeness but also leaked out arrogance in between.

The chambers turned dark as soon as the humans left, and the golden throne turned black. The illuminating doors turned purple and everything became a shade of dark. Lucifer floated on his throne, and Karl stood in front of him countless skulls were floating around him. He closed his eyes and Skulls spread all around the chamber and sealed the chamber with their energy.

"What do you think?" asked Lucifer.

"The offer looks great. But what if this is a trap to draw us out and kill all of us."

"Yes, I too am thinking the same that is the reason we need to send some subordinates to frozen land, Sword Land and black water lake to check the details," said Lucifer.

"Should I go and find out?" asked Karl.

"No, you're second strongest we cannot risk that. Did you get any report from our spies?"

"No, I think they are dead," said Karl.

"Okay then send two Knights and 1 ghost to check. Insert a will that could destroy them in case someone tries to access their consciousness," said Lucifer.

"That sounds good, Should we spy on three of them?"

"No need, they are carrying a celestial item. Someone is keeping a watch on them from far away. The throne rumbled when they entered." said Lucifer.

After some time Karl went out to follow the orders, Lucifer closed his eyes to think of various ideas and the three humans started refilling their essence.
