9:00 pm.
Nathan finally woke up, "Why is it so dark?" He asked himself.
He looked at the window, the sun had already set. HE stood up and turned the lights on.
Nathan grabbed his phone and booted it up. "What time is it? I wonder how my post is doing." He was hoping that it garnered a few reactions. Since he was new to this, he can just take his time in garnering an audience.
The phone booted up and he looked at the time. "It's already 9?" It was no wonder Nathan was feeling lethargic as soon as he got up.
He left his room and switched the lights on. Nathan headed to the kitchen and opened up the fridge to check if there's any food he can just heat up.
There was none.
He sighed and checked if there were any canned foods available in the cupboard. There was something available, he thanked that he didn't need to cook anything up, he was feeling really lethargic so he wasn't in the mood to cook something up plus he'll have to unfreeze the meat in the freezer if he decided to cook.
HE opened the can and heated it up, after a few minutes it was up and finished.
Nathan grabbed a plate and utensils before he started eating.
While eating he opened his socials to check the status of the post. He almost spat the food he was eating when he saw the number of reactions.
"What the f**k?" Nathan didn't think it was real. Honestly though, it was just his first post, he never assumed that it would have that much of a reaction.
It was a whopping 50k reactions, was this normal? Was his voice that good?
Nathan couldn't understand how it happened. He checked the comments and almost all of it were positive feedback.
"What an amazing voice!"
"Is he a professional singer?"
"Why haven't he posted earlier with a voice like that, starting today I'll be a fan."
"Can't believe you hide this from us, Buy us some meal next time"
There were a ton of comments, Nathan couldn't finish reading it even if he spends the whole night reading.
Nathan also noticed that there were a few people who called him directly, Neo and Warlock were one of them. As for the other people who called him, he didn't know them but guessing the reactions in his video, he concluded that they all called because of his post.
He decided to call Neo to check if they also saw the video.
At the hospital.
Neo was reading comics on his phone. He was influenced by Iain who was reading comics when he first got here, the latter said that he could read online, and so he did.
Almost all of his free time is taken up by reading, more so since he is currently isolated in the hospital.
The phone rang suddenly.
"Mom, Nathan is calling."
Thraia, who laid on the couch, stood up.
"Can't believe that kid didn't answer for hours." Thraia took Neo's phone and answered Nathan's call.
"Hello?" Thraia said.
"Mom? Where's Neo, why did he call earlier?" Nathan was expecting Neo to answer the phone, so he was perplexed that it was his mother that answered it.
"I was the one who asked him to call you. Was that post of yours true?" Thraia can't get over the fact that she didn't know that his son has singing talent.
"Yes, why? Have you seen it?" Nathan asked.
"Yes, I have. When were you able to sing that well? I'm still thinking of that time you said you're going to change, is this part of it? If that's true then I'm happy for you, thank goodness you now think that you need to try living." Thraia thought of Nathan's demeanor previously, it's almost that he didn't care for anything, always doing what he's told, never asking or complaining about anything.
"Since forever, I just didn't bother to show it. There was no use." Nathan lied his way through.
Thraia raised an eyebrow, "And now there was a use? Anyway, did you use my ring light?"
Nathan's eyes widened as he thought how was his mother able to tell that he used her ring light, the object was not even in the camera for the audience to view.
"I don't know what you're talking about. That's just natural lighting, why would I use your ring light." Nathan said innocently.
"You can't fool me Nathan, if I see that there's a scratch in that thing, you'll get yourself a belt." Thraia threatened.
"Anyway, do you want to try your luck in some music companies?" Thraia changed her subject. She remembered a classmate of hers back in university, if she recalled correctly her classmate is now some kind of a department head in some entertainment company.
"Why?" Nathan was dumbfounded why his mother changed the topic all of a sudden.
She was looking to strike him with a belt then all of a sudden, her mother offered him to try his luck in some kind of company.
"I know you're pursuing medicine, looking at your grades it's more realistic for you to try using your talent for once. If I knew earlier, I would have taken you to a music college." Thraia said softly.
Nathan was left aback, his mothers words struck him. He had hidden himself away from anyone's view, he thought that Thraia didn't care about his education since he was always the last in his class if the failed students were taken away.
Thraia must've been worried about his future every time she sees his grades, only hiding away her true thoughts.
"Are you still there?" Thraia asked Nathan to be silenced by her previous statement.
"I'm here. Sure, why not. There's no harm in trying." Nathan said with a smile as he agreed with his mother's suggestion.
"Perfect, I'll call her right after this and tell her about you. Bye, love you." Thraia dropped the call.
The call ended, he looked at his phone with a smile. A new feeling, but he likes it.
