Chapter 7: Weapon

In the dimly lit interior of the supermarket, three blood-stained men stood with their backs against the rolled-up door, gasping for breath. The atmosphere outside was filled with the haunting sounds of zombies hissing and their nails scratching against the metal door. Despite the imminent danger, the trio, led by Walker, felt a wave of excitement. They had finally made it into the supermarket, a place they believed was a goldmine of supplies.

Walker's eyes, wide with anticipation, quickly turned to disbelief as he scanned the empty shelves. "This... Where's all the stuff?" he exclaimed, his voice tinged with confusion and disbelief. The other two shared his bewilderment, wondering if someone had beaten them to the supplies.

However, Walker was quick to deduce the truth. "The supermarket was cleared out methodically," he said. "It wasn't the work of survivors. It must have been the owner, planning ahead."

The realization sparked an idea among the group. Walker remembered the supermarket owner lived in the building across the street. A plan began to form - they would confront the owner and take what they needed.

One of the men voiced a concern about whether the owner would willingly part with his supplies. Walker's response was firm: "It's not about asking. He's hoarding supplies while we're starving. We'll take what we need."

With a newfound sense of purpose, the three men quietly slipped out of the supermarket, careful not to attract more zombies. Their next destination was clear: the supermarket owner's residence.

Lin, observing all this from his window, had anticipated their next move. He was prepared to test the abilities of his zombie 'little brothers' on these unwelcome visitors.

The trio made their way to Lin's building, dispatching any zombies they encountered along the way. By the time they reached Lin's floor, they were exhausted but resolute.

"Knock on the door," Walker instructed his brother. Obliging, his brother began to pound on the door, demanding entry. But there was no response.

Lin, meanwhile, was unhurriedly preparing himself, washing and drying his hands, and tying a clean white scarf around his neck. The confrontation was about to begin.

Walker, growing impatient, raised his fire axe to force entry. But just as he was about to strike, the door opened, revealing Lin. He stood there, immaculately dressed, his skin fair and his attire spotless – a stark contrast to the typical image of a zombie.

The revelation that Lin was a zombie caught Walker and his companions off guard. Zombies were usually grotesque, but Lin looked clean and composed. This anomaly threw them into confusion.

Before they could recover, more zombies emerged, armed with crossbows. Walker and his team were stunned. The sight of zombies wielding weapons defied everything they knew about surviving in the apocalypse.

Lin signaled to his zombie followers, who aimed their weapons at Walker and his group. The realization that these zombies were trained and potentially proficient in weapon use changed the entire dynamic of the confrontation.

In this apocalyptic world, where the dead walked, and the living fought for survival, Lin and his band of sophisticated zombies were redefining the rules of engagement. The supermarket, once seen as a beacon of hope by Walker and his team, had become a trap, leading them into a confrontation for which they were wholly unprepared.

As Lin and his zombie followers faced off against the intruders, it became evident that the rules of survival had evolved. Adaptability was now the key to survival in this new world order. Lin, with his strategic approach and uniquely trained zombies, was setting a new precedent for survival in the post-apocalyptic world.
