Chapter "Hidden Desire"

Hamlyn's eyes fluttered open as he roused from his nap, noticing Hamond still driving. "Did I actually fall asleep? Why didn’t you wake me?" Hamlyn asked, his voice thick with sleep.

A sudden realization swept over Hamlyn. He turned his head to the left and discovered Sheryl's head resting delicately on his shoulder, her hand clasped around his arm as she slept soundly.

A gentle smile graced Hamlyn’s lips as he admired her serene expression, sensing the warmth and comfort she found in his presence.

“That's why I didn't wake you up,” Hamond said, breaking the tranquillity of the moment.

"How much longer until we arrive?" Hamlyn inquired,

"About half an hour left," Hamond responded, his eyes flicking to the rearview mirror. "You can wake them up now," he suggested.

Responding to Hamond's suggestion, Hamlyn gently nudged Sheryl's chin, his touch delicate as he murmured, "Hey, we're almost there. Time to wake up."
