Coincidence or destiny?

“What are you doing here?”

“Well, good afternoon to you as well, Miss Annabelle Matthews.” He read from the paper. Somehow the smile he was giving her was satisfying as if he got what he was looking for. Gotcha!!

“Are you stalking me?” she accused. There was no way she was going to believe that it was just coincidence.

He let a shy smile. “Believe me, I’m as much surprised myself to have seen you here.” He somehow appeared sincere. He leaned on the table edge. “I take it you are that new trainer Mr. Richard told me about?”

“And I take it that you are Mr. Velvac Denize grandson?” He walked before her. Maybe because he wanted to have a clear view of her. He missed her.

“Alexendre Denize.” They shook hands. It felt clumsy to hold his hands that way. Anna, shook her head. Damn girl. Stop fantasying over him. Its better if we let bygones be bygones. She reminded herself again. She tried to take back her hand, he refused to let go. “I would surely say it is a pleasure meeting you. But since it is not our first encounter, I would prefer to express myself otherwise.” At that thought he dragged her into his arms, between his tights, and disposed a quick kiss on her lips. An unsatisfying quick kiss. She could felt a current through her nerves. Just as the first time.

“That was a bad idea.” She confessed, her eyes still closed and still locked in his arms.

“No, ditching me without a goodbye, that was a bad idea.” He corrected and finally let go.

“You’re annoyed?”

“No, just curious to know, why did you do that?”

“Well, we did agreed that it was just a fling!” She defended herself. Finally an excuse to cover the actual reason she left.

“A fling that could have ended otherwise, if only you did stay. Maybe, we wouldn’t be so surprise at this moment when we see each other here.”

And what would have happened then? I can’t fall for that right now. I need my space so I can get a clearer mind. I need to settle down. “You can’t judge me now, can you? As much as I hate to burst your bubble, we are still stranger for each other even after that night, so you are in no position to point fingers at me.”

‘’Are you suggesting that we should mingle ?’’ A devilish smirk appeared on his face.

‘’NO, I’m just trying to remind you of the pact we made.’’ She halted to watch his face, he was amused.

‘’The pact did state that if we ever encounter each other again you would own me a date.’’ He added.

‘’i don’t remember that one, all i can remember is that we agreed to choose truth or dare over chit papers.’’

‘’Let’s not waste time then.’’

‘’Huh ! i think it’s better if we sort out what’s more important at the moment.’’

‘’Anything more crucial than that ? i can’t think of any other.’’ He answered innocently.

‘’Maybe that interview I’m supposed to give.’’ She reminded him.

He pondered over it and the next moment he reaches for his chair. ‘’Please.’’ He invited her to sit, while he grabbed his interview form and writing pad.
