“I don’t remember inviting you in.” she shrugged as the latter smiled back at her.
“Sometimes on the rare occasion, I feel being a little pushy always does the work.” He bellowed back, with an air of roguishness. He extended his hands forward, six bottled of Phoenix chilled beers. “Seems fair enough since I own you a MP3 player.”
She thought for a moment. “Fine, I won’t spoil my mood and time by arguing with you.”
Nailed it. Alex, disposed the chilled beers on the white sands, and sat next to her. “Cheers.”
“Oh. I have some snacks.” She shared her Pringles crackers with him. “Hmmm, that is so good.” She ate one cracker and sipped her beer. “I apologize for being an anti-social/ unmannered girl before. Its just that I needed some alone time.
He just smiled at her. “So now that we are friend, can I know your name?”
She chuckled. “Excuse me, I’ve known you for a few minutes only. And we are sharing a beer, that doesn’t qualify as being friend.”
She is tough. I like it. “How should I call you then?
“Stranger.”
“hmm, Fine by me.” He agreed. “I really love twilight here in Mauritius.” He added.
“Seems like someone with experience talking.” She noticed.
“I have a good friend here. And he always send me pictures of twilight and sunset of Mauritius.” He sipped his beer. “Ever since, I arrived here I was busy working so I didn’t have the chance to enjoy the twilight.” After a few moments he added. “I always had a fantasy of having a swim when the sun sets. I wonder how the water would be.”
“That’s good. Maybe we could go for a swim later.” Shut the hell up girl!!! Her mind said.
“Sure.” He agreed without hesitation.
“Oh, I was just kidding.” She nodded. “Don’t mind me.”
“But I insist.” He added. “By all means we should try it.” Coming closer to the latter, he whispered. “I Know that it will be tempting, specially being here with you.”
“Are you flirting with me?” she accused.
“If telling the truth, means flirting to you. Then maybe I am.” He winked.
She smiled. “Those cheesy lines are not enough to tame my mature mind.” Confidence reflected in her words.
“I can always try.” He insisted. “ Shall we go?”
It was around six thirty when they returned on the beach. They swam for at least one hour, alongside the lagoon. Indeed the water was warm at this time of the day. It felt like that they were in a private spa, with salted minerals, soaking their body. Anna, felt her nerves relaxed and her mind completely drained of everything stressful she lived. It was worth it.
“That was fun.” Alex let go.
“Yah.” She agreed. She lay on the wet sand again.
“So, what’s for dinner?” He asked.
“Excuse me?”
“As it is concluded that we do enjoy our time together, a dinner would be perfect to celebrate.” He added. “Let me invite you.”
