Joanna’s POV
“THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!" Harmony yelled in a sing-song voice, that shattered my earbuds.
"Dude! You're destroying my hearing capacity." I scowled while I rubbed them in a bid to reduce the impact of his horrible tone.
"What's with you, bitch? Why are you acting all grumpy this early morning? Mother Nature still disturbing you?"
"Nah." I shook my head in reply. "It's just lack of sleep."
"Why? Did you have hot wild sex last night?" He wiggled his eyebrows.
"I don't even know the reason. And, ewww, who the hell on God's green earth has sex during their monthly flow?"
"Well, since you denied it, place a smile on that pretty ass face of yours and dance with me," Harmony spoke before he swayed his hips from left to right. I chuckled at his silly ways and joined him in singing. "Thank God it's Friday, yeah yeah, it's Friday yeah yeah."
Smiling like goats and swaying our hips while we walked was so craqy that it began to draw attention to us. Tenda who immediately sighted us ran in our direction and engaged in the dancing and singing.
"Hey, guys, what's cooking?" she asked as she swiveled her waist, moving her body to the beat Harmony was making with his lips.
"TGIF!" Harmony yelled. He did a classic twirl that gathered more attention from our fellow students who were hanging around in the hallway.
"Yo, babes, it's Friday!" I exclaimed, feeling a bit better already.
"Why are you three swaying your hips and smiling like goats set on fire?” Tony's deep voice asked as he walked up to us doing the deed.
"It's Friday vibes, baby!" Tenda winked at him before swinging her hips in a seductive fashion that had him drooling.
"Get out of my way, you goof," Ifeanyi uttered as he pushed Tony out of the way and enrolled in our prancing madness.
"Idiots," Blake laughed, shaking his head before joining us in singing.
"Come on and dance with us," I urged Tony and Blake who were standing there staring at us like piles of bricks.
"I'm singing. I think that's enough," Blake beamed.
"I ain't doing any of that shit," Tony let out, motioning to Tenda, Harmony, and Ifeanyi who were really into it as they kept singing and dancing to the beat Harmony was producing.
"For you, I will sing." He sighed and proceeded to hum the tune. "Thank God it's Friday!"
Unfortunately for us, our little party was cut short by the sound of the bell as it rang, signaling the start of the day's activities.
"Why!" Harmony cried dramatically, peering at the ceiling. I scoffed at this and grabbed his arm, waved at the others, and hauled him to class.
Stepping into the classroom, we found two empty seats which were fortunate hence it was at the back of the room.
Lessons started immediately as we got settled. Before I knew it, it was time to pass our homework.
"Shit," I groaned and facepalmed as I discovered mine wasn't completed.
"What?" Harmony whispered in my direction.
"I didn't complete my homework."
"What?" he doubted, offering me a shocked look.
"I said. I. Didn't. Completel. My. Homework!" I whisper yelled, emphasising each word.
"I heard that!" he hissed and lent me a glare.
"Then what?" A frown taking shape on my face as I got slightly irritated.
"I meant what as in you never fail to complete your homework." "Well, there's a first time for everything." I shrugged in return.
"Okay, if you say so, but I hope you are ready, because here comes the roaring lion," he said, seeing as the teacher was coming towards us.
"Alex!" she called out, anger eminent in her voice after she had glimpsed through my homework.
"Why is yours not completed?"
"I slept off," I responded, not in the mood to beg or give some dumb excuse.
"You had three whole days to do it, and your excuse is you slept off?" she quizzed, bestowing on me a hard look, as smoke steamed from her ears.
"I've told you exactly what happened, or do you want me to lie?" I smirked to which she started muttering and growling as she was about to explode, thankfully, the bell rang.
Grinning at her red face, I shuffled out of the classroom with Harmony by my side.
I survived my other lessons with the thought of TGIF at the back of my mind.
*******
I headed to the cafeteria for lunch and purchased shawarma and a bottle of coke after which I spotted my friends at our usual table already chatting away.
"Hey folks," I called in greeting and sat down at the empty seat beside Harmony.
"I was waiting for you," he blurted after I sat down, an excited look in his eyes.
"Why?" I polled confused as I chewed on my food.
"Because I wanted you to be here before I said this."
"Say what?" Ifeanyi implored, bouncing in his seat, which made Blake roll his eyes.
"Jo here," Harmony announced, taking a dramatic pause, as he pointed at me. "Didn't complete her homework for the first time since I've known her. And not just any homework it was chemistry."
"What the-"
"Holy shit!"
"Oh my God."
"Wow, I wasn't expecting that."
All my friends blurted out at the same time with dumbstruck faces except Harmony who was smiling as if he won a Porsche.
"Oh come on!" I chuckled. "You guys don't always complete yours. Some of you don't even do them like Tony and Blake here. So, what's the big deal."
"Yeah, we know that, but this is about you, Jo. You of all people!" Tenda spoke, surprised. "Mehn, I can't believe this."
"Well, like I told Harmony earlier, there's always a first time for everything."
"That's what she said," Harmony spoke in a high-pitched voice.
“Asshole," I muttered in a glare.
"You love me." He winked
"Unfortunately," I replied, a small smile gracing my lips.
"Well, since it's Friday, who's up for a party?" Tony beamed.
“Me!"
"Yeah!"
"Varty!"
"Friday!"
Everyone chorused, excluding me, thus I sat there avoiding eye contact.
"How about you, Joanna?" Tony invited, with a smile that made my heartbeat increase its rhythm.
"Well," I muttered in an attempt to decline without sounding bad. "Don't get me wrong, people, I love parties, but y'all know I'm lazy, so."
“No homework was given today in class which means you are free," Tenda pleaded through pouty lips.
"Remember you promised," Tony smirked referring to the other day.
"Ugh, curse my promises." I groaned. "Fine! I'll go."
"Woo hoo!" They all clapped as the bell sounded letting us know lunch was over. School went by really quickly after that. And for the first time in my
life, I was sad about it since I wasn't ready to party.
*****
Grumbling to myself, I pulled on a black net crop top with high-waist native trousers (a colorful African-made material tailored into a trouser.)
I pondered if I should go with my black wedge or black sandals. I wasn't against heels or wedges but I was sort of tall for a girl.
It still amazed me that I was a head taller than Ifeanyi. This was why sometimes I have trouble choosing if I should go out in heels or not.
A horn blared which indicated Tony's arrival.
"Bye, Mom! Bye, Dad!" I shouted as I raced down the stairs. Hurriedly, I strapped on my black wedge that I picked in a haste. I swung the handbag with phone and keys already in it over my shoulder and proceeded to the door.
Closing it behind me, I rushed out. I quickly climbed into Tony's car without looking, which had me wishing I did, because as I turned to say hi, my face bumped into his with our lips nearly touching.
"Sorry," I murmured, embarrassed and zustered all at once.
"It's okay. You look hot," he commented, giving me an intense look that could make a girl's heart melt.
"Thank you." I blushed.
"You are welcome," he winked.
In an instant, we were speeding off in the direction of the supposed party. This left me alone with my thoughts wandering around in my head.
I mulled over the way my heart picked up speed when he smiled or stared at me.
The way I felt and blushed whenever he said nice things could only mean one thing. I had a crush on Tony freaking Ryan.
Oh God save me! I thought groaning internally. But this can't be love or could it?
I concluded it was just a crush though I had a hunch Tenda was probably in love with him. I also sensed he was slightly into her but I couldn't be so sure hence he acted the same way towards me.
Why, Lord! Why does it have to happen that when I gnally fet a crush it has to be a freakin love triangle?
“We're here," Tony spoke, snapping me out of my thoughts. I gazed around and saw what looked exactly like any high school party. I noticed some teenagers whom I couldn't recogniqe from such a distance hanging around with red cups, some smoking, and others just drinking.
A few of them were leaning on the wall of the two-storied cherry red building, which I was sure was where the party was taking place because of the loud noise reverberating from it.
I discovered our friends hanging around too after I stepped out. I waved to gain their attention as Tony locked the car.
"Damn, babe, you look hot!" Tenda spoke as she caught sight of my outfit before she yanked me in for a hug.
"You look stunning," I said, taking in her funnel hand blouse, a tight-fitting skirt, and black stilettos.
"Wow, bitch, you on fire . I might have to fuck you right here right now," Tony blurted out as he too took in her attire, practically drooling and granting her the fuck me eyes. A light pain twittered through my chest, but I simply chuckled and rolled my eyes.
"Looking good best friend." Harmony whistled and offered me a kiss on the cheek.
"I could probably do you right now," Ifeanyi spoke, earning him a shut up and a smack on the head from Blake.
"I was joking!" he whined, with a pout.
"I know," I gleamed and rufzed his hair at the exact moment Blake scoffed.
"Not the hair!" Ifeanyi shrieked and smacked my hand away after which he patted it to make sure it was still intact.
"I just locked the strands an hour ago meaning it's still fresh and hasn't dried completely so let it be," he sobbed.
"Shut up, y'all, and let's all go in and have fun. Not standing outside here like a bunch of losers," Blake howled, basically shoving us into the crowded building.
When we got in, Ifeanyi and Harmony left us muttering something about getting laid while Tenda, Blake, Tony, and I headed to the bar to grab some drinks and fried meat.
I snatched two bottles of beer from the open cooler and signaled to someone to get me the saucy well-grilled beef. I savored the sweet taste of the well-fried seasoned meat before downing the bottles of beer into my system.
Don't misunderstand me though, I wasn't a drunk. I just liked to unwind and have some fun. It was a party so I was entitled to enjoy myself a little.
"Woah, easy there, tiger," Ulake mumbled, smiling at me.
"I came to have fun, and fun I will have," I belched, feeling the drink start to work as I was almost done with one bottle.
"Not too much fun. You might get drunk and do something drastic," Tony growled, grimacing at my swaying body.
"Dude, stop PMSing. Besides, I don't get drunk easily," I replied with a sly smile as Tenda just sat there chuckling.
Blake got a bit pissed and stood up, saying something about going to dance.
"Damn!" I heard Tenda exclaim a few minutes later, her eyes focused ahead.
"What?" I questioned, my eyes following the path of where she was gawking at something or someone.
"Him!" she confessed pointing at someone.
"Fuck!" I moaned. Yes, I literally did when I saw who she was implying.
I couldn't see his face clearly from where I was standing and the dim lighting of the party didn't help either. From what I could see, I could tell he was tall as in really tall. He was well over six feet tall with wide shoulders and dreaded hair.
He looked bored as he kept glancing around unseeingly, and I could tell his mind was somewhere else, not at the said party.
Whirling my head around to tell Tenda something, I was stunned to see her walking away with Tony by her side.
"Well, I guess I'm alone for the night," I spoke feeling a pang of pain. Add that to the pinch of jealousy that was nagging at my insides.
I sniffed, squared my shoulders, and gulped the rest of my drink as I decided to go meet Mr. Hot Stuff. That was what I concluded to call him until I knew his name. Original I thought.
"Hey there," I waved when I got to him and may I say damn again? This dude was really attractive
up close. I noticed his fair skin, pink lips and dark eyes. Really deep dark eyes that looked like oceans of black water where you could freeze and drown in their depths.
From the distance before I could tell he had broad shoulders, I discovered the shoulders came with a tight six-pack, which was slightly visible from the way he was sitting on the stool that had his low-neck shirt clinging to his skin.
I had never thought I would see someone as hot as Tony but, boy was I wrong. Here was someone who would easily put a billion Tonys to shame, and that was just putting it mildly.
His face was well sculptured with high cheekbones and a very hot sharp jaw. He was hot with a capital "H".
"Go away, I ain't interested," he spoke in a deep voice, without sparing me a glimpse. And, boy, was his voice real deep and sexy that it sent my skin vibrating as tingles ran down my spine.
"You won't even look at me," I pronounced, faking a sob. That got his attention as he stiffened and slowly perked up. His eyes met mine and suddenly, I got lost in their midst.
"Well, hello there, baby," he said, a smile automatically appearing on his beautiful face. And damn that smile. It had a familiarity to it. One I couldn't place in my slightly drunken state.
"Hey there, handsome," I smirked, my eyebrow raised.
"I'm happy you're here." He winked, which had my heart doing a back flip.
"Wanna dance?" I invited as so different by patorankimh came on. "Gladly," he whispered in my ear, tugging me to the dance zoor. Twisting my back to him, I placed his hand on my hips immediately.
I commenced to grind my ass on his groin.
"Fuck!" I heard him whisper in my ear, his grip on my waist tight. I took that as some sort of encouragement and moved my waist up
and down slowly in a seductive manner as I felt him getting hard.
“Fuck, right there, baby," he said kissing my neck.
With a grin, I gradually pulled him to an empty seat and sat on his lap. My back to him I lowered myself to the extent where my ass was right above his shank and initiated a twerk. I sensed him get riled up as I began to get turned on.
"Okay, that's it, fuck!" He groaned, clutching my waist, and instantly turned me around with a strength and speed I hadn't encountered before.
He stared deep into my eyes, and the next second, I was pulled down to meet his lips.
Fireworks, literal fireworks, that was it, as electric currents ran through me. I shivered and groaned when he bit my lower lip to grant his tongue entrance.
"Damn!" He growled against my lips as his hands slipped from my neck to my back and gripped my ass hard.
I moaned and kissed him with eBual fervor while I played with the dreadlocks on his head as he kept kissing his way down to my neck and trailing to my chest. I whimpered as he sucked on the sensitive skin.
I'd not thought I could get turned on this fast hence I had never felt that way with anyone. And trust me, I was no virgin. Unhuriedly, he pulled his lips away from mine and whispered in my hair, "Wow, I could do that all night long."
I blushed, resting my head in the crook of his neck to hide the huge grin on my face.
"You actually made this party turn from bored to hot in a few minutes," he uttered tugging my face up to look at him. I just sat there smiling at him. Damn! Why can't I see his face clearly so I can recognize him if we bump into each other somewhere else?
"Where are your friends, babe, because it's getting late," he voiced out, lending me that heart-dropping smile that could make a girl shed her undies right there and then.
Glancing around, I couldn't catch sight of said friends. Shrugging, I blurted out, "I don't know."
"Then let's get you home," he declared, making me realiqe how tired I was as the fatigue settled in. It had been long I partied this hard and had so much fun. So, I wasn't surprised how it took a toll on me.
I followed him to his cool G-wagon and slumped into the passenger seat. A minute later, I was off like a light.
