Joanna's POV
“WHAT ARE YOU THINKING about?” A voice startled me, nearly making me scream, when I saw a cute dude sitting in the chair Harmony had occupied a while ago.
“What the hell? I mean how?” I queried in shock.
“No need to be scared, beautiful. I don’t bite, though I would love to bite that pretty neck of yours.” His deep voice said, sending shivers down my spine.
Still, in awe, I gazed up at him, and I would be damned if I said I didn’t like what I saw because this guy was gorgeous and hot in every sense of the word.
From his standing dreads to his deep dark eyes, pointed nose above light pink lips, a sharp jaw and light fair skin, not to talk of his broad shoulders and a visible six pack. I snapped out of my daydreaming when I heard him say something.
I blushed in embarrassment seeing as I wasn’t paying attention, “Sorry? I didn’t get you.”
He smiled at me, amused. Damn! His smile. Oh God that smile. Like what you see?” he inquired, wiggling his eyebrows.
I nodded my head and replied truthfully, “Yep, I love what I see.” He seemed stunned at what I uttered which resulted in me laughing.
“You admitted it?” he asked confused.
“Yep-”
“Wow- You’ve changed,” He muttered in a low tone.
“Sorry?” I suspected, puzzled.
“Nothing.” He shrugged followed by a heart stopping smile.
I gawked at him as I caught a glimpse of some familiarity in his features. Those dreadlocks and mysterious eyes were things I was sure to have seen before.
“Were you at the party on Friday night?” I implored a tad curious. This made him offer me a mischievous smile before he nodded.
“Oh my God,” I groaned as I recognized who he was, or might be. “It was you, right?”
“The one and only.” He grinned and gestured to himself. “And may I say you’ve got some nice moves.”
“Oh, God.” I laughed and rubbed my hands on my face. “I can’t believe I’m here sitting with the guy I twerked for on Friday.”
He chuckled, “Trust me, I got turned on. It took everything in me to drop you home and not drive you straight to my house and bang you
senseless.”
The way he spoke in a husky voice made my body heat up as goosebumps trailed my skin.
“Wait, how did you know my house? Jecause I don’t remember telling you before I passed out. And how did you even get in?” I quizzed, happy that the mystery would finally be solved.
“I know you, plus I also know your brother, so it was no big deal.” He shrugged.
“How do you know my brother?”
“That’s a story for another day, babe.” He blew me a kiss to which I shook my head, a bit disappointed that he wouldn’t tell me.
“What’s your name?”
I wasn’t letting this hottie go like that. I needed to know his name. “The name’s Frank, hun, short for Francis.”
“Francis?” I polled. The name sounded familiar to my ears. “So, Frank, may I call you Francis?” I pleaded.
“Anything you want beautiful.” He grinned.
“What’s my name?” I inquired, a little test to see if he really knew me as he had told.
“Joanna,” he blurted, making me choke on my saliva due to my surprise. “May I call you Ana?”
A faraway smile on his face triggered a quick memory in my mind.
~Flashback~
“Bye, bestie.”
“Bye Ana- See you tomorrow.”
I stood at the veranda, watching him walk away, as I raised a question to myself of when I would have the guts to tell him about my feelings.
~End Of Flashback~
“Hey-” He waved a palm in my vision, snatching me out of my memory zone. This made me push that memory to the back of my mind and place a smile on my face.
“You need to go home. It’s getting late,” he explained and pointed at the window.
I peered at my watch and discovered it was way past six in the evening with the sun fast setting.
“Oops, I didn’t come with my car,” I sighed though I knew the moon would soon replace the sun as we were in the middle of the harmattan season with Christmas just two weeks away.
“Can I drop you?” he inquired, to which I refused, smiling.
“No worries, the moon will soon be up,” I let out.
“Okay, babe, if you say so.” He smiled and got up.
I took note of the fact the smile didn’t quite reach his eyes but I decided not to comment on it, instead, I stood up with him and exited the restaurant.
*******
Frank
I realized it was her the minute I stepped into Mr. Biggs, a renowned fast food restaurant. Her beauty could never be mistaken.
She sat there, a distant look in her eyes that forced me to abandon what I was supposed to get and go over to sit with her. I startled her a bit hence she wasn’t expecting anyone but she overcame her shock as she recalled who I was.
While we talked, I kept remembering how it was to feel that perky ass on my groin, the taste of her lips on mine, and the way a certain part of me wanted me to take her right there.
Damn! The girl could easily mess up my thoughts. It took all my willpower not to tell her everything so we could be close once more.
They said the patient dog ate the fattest bone. So, I hoped that’s the truth because I wasn’t ready to lose her again.
