Tears and Cheers

Halle’s POV

"You're too slow; they'll take all the good seats," Val urged as we hurried into the hall. The sound of chatter filled the air as people found their seats.

Finally settling down, the four of us took our seats. "Dear all, be quiet; the opening ceremony is about to begin," an unfamiliar voice echoed through the microphone.

"Hello, everyone, and welcome to Gleewood Arts. I'm the director, Mrs. Montez, and I believe everyone present ,passed the audition," she addressed the crowdz

"With expectations and determination, you've come from afar, from different cities to Gleewood Arts to chase your dreams. So, be on your best behavior and strive to stand out," she advised, capturing everyone's attention.

"You have a lot to offer and make Gleewood proud," she concluded before stepping away from the podium, leaving us in anticipation.

As we waited, I noticed Jenna looking distracted, as if searching for someone. "Xavier isn't here," she whispered, sounding disappointed.

Suddenly, a thick masculine voice leaned in close behind me, his warm breath tickling my skin. "He'll be around at tonight's party," he whispered.

"How do you know that?" I asked, turning to see a figure wearing a baseball cap. Our eyes met, and my heart raced at the sight of deep blue eyes that seemed to pierce through me.It was Jason

"Jason," I said softly as he gave a gentle smile. Jenna turned to me with a sly smirk and waved to Jason, who waved back.

"You guys should come to the party tonight; I promise it'll be fun," Jason insisted.

"I’m not sure about that," I replied.

"She'll be there," Jenna whispered, nudging me as Jason smirked and left the hall.

"I think he likes you," Jenna teased, noticing my flushed face.

"Now that your admirer invited you, will you go tonight?" Diane asked, giving me puppy eyes.

“Ughh, fine" I relented, earning cheers from Jenna and Diane.

"Shh," Val gestured, signaling us to quiet down as the a commanding figure entered the room.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Phillip, the chancellor of Gleewood Arts," he greeted, commanding our attention.

"I believe most of us have located our dorms and settled in," he continued. "If you're having trouble finding your dorm or have accommodation issues, you can meet me after the meeting. Others can return to their rooms. Any other information will be provided later. Thank you," he concluded before leaving the podium.

After the chancellor left the podium, the hall buzzed with whispers and shuffling as everyone prepared to leave. I glanced at my friends, signaling them to get up.

“Well, looks like we have plans for tonight," Jenna grinned, nudging me playfully.

"Yeah, thanks to your secret admirer," Diane teased, earning a chuckle from Val.

"I guess we should head back to our rooms," Val suggested, standing up and gathering her belongings.

As we made our way out of the hall, Jenna couldn't resist bringing up the party again. "I can't wait for tonight! It's going to be epic!"

I nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. Despite my initial reluctance, I couldn't deny that I was curious about the party and eager to see what the night would bring.

Few Hours later

We left the dorm with a excitement, all dressed up for the night. As we walked towards the party, the campus was buzzing with energy. Laughter and chatter filled the air, and the night felt alive with possibility.

When we arrived at the party, the place was packed. The party was being held in a large open area, decorated with string lights and a stage for the band. Colorful lights flashed, and the music thumped loudly, making my heart race with anticipation. People were dancing and having a great time, and the atmosphere was electric.

"Look, there's the stage!" Jenna pointed excitedly. We made our way through the crowd, trying to get a good spot. Everyone was talking about Elite3 performing, and the excitement was contagious.

Just as we found a spot, the lights dimmed, and the crowd hushed. The anticipation was almost unbearable. Suddenly, the lights flashed, the opening chords of a song filled the air. The crowd erupted in cheers as Elite3 appeared, their presence commanding the stage. Then I watched as Xavier, grabbed the microphone, his presence commanding the room.

"Are you ready to have an unforgettable night?" he shouted, and the crowd responded with a deafening roar.

I could barely hear myself think over the noise, but I couldn't stop smiling. Jenna, Diane, Val, and I exchanged excited glances, knowing this was a night we wouldn't forget.

As the performance began, the lights softened, and Xavier started with a slow love song...His voice was hauntingly beautiful and powerful, that I felt a lump in my throat ,and I could see tears in the eyes of some people.

Even I couldn't believe how amazing Xavier's voice was and how it stirred such deep emotions. It was clear he was pouring his heart into every note.. Even Jenna, always so bubbly, had a tear rolling down her cheek.

Some couples held each other close, while others simply closed their eyes, lost in the music. And for a moment, everything felt perfectly still.

Then, just as the last note of the slow song faded, Xavier signaled the band, and the music exploded into a lively pop beat. The shift was electric, turning the crowd's sober tears into ecstatic screams. It was an incredible transition, lifting everyone's spirits in an instant.

"Wow, this is amazing," I whispered, caught up in the excitement. The crowd sang along to the upbeat rhythm, clearly it was one of Elite3's popular songs. The energy in the room was infectious, and we couldn't help but dance and cheer.

I quickly brought out my phone to record the performance, wanting to share this unforgettable moment with Jessie. The lights flashed and the music pumped through the speakers, creating a truly memorable experience.

As the song reached its climax, the band members gave it their all, and the crowd went wild. The final note hit, and the stage lights dimmed dramatically. Xavier and the band took a bow as the audience erupted into applause and screams.

"It was indeed a performance," I said, breathless from the energy and emotion.
