The next morning I got prepared early and cooked some breakfast for both of us. Sasuke woke up a little late. But it was early enough for us to reach near the village gate at the exact time we had agreed to meet Naruto and Hinata yesterday. The other two were also on time. After registering our IDs in the village gate we finally left the village.

Both Naruto and Hinata were not getting lovey dovey on our way. But I had a feeling that it was going to be an adventurous mission.

"Well although I had requested for a C ranked mission, I hadn't expected them to send children on such a dangerous task. I think the hidden leaf village should reconsider this. People have gone missing multiple times you know." The village chief said to us.

It took us around 2 days to reach the end of the land of fire. We have taken breaks in between our journeys. Since it is our first time outside on our own, all of us referained from fucking each other on our way. Due to the complex situation at the border we had to take a different route and it took us more days to reach this place. The place where we would be doing our mission, was situated between two active volcanoes. The onsen town was actually a small village. The people here mostly rely on the business of onsens to live.

After arriving in the town, we went straight towards the chief's house in order to declare our arrival. But as I had expected he was not happy that the village had sent four children to do the mission.

But fortunately at least someone had some experience dealing with such situations.

"Rest assured. According to the mission requirements, you wanted to scout the area from here the people are going missing and find the cause. If possible, we would also have to find the people who have gone missing mysteriously. If this mission description is correct then you won't have to worry about us shinobi." Hinata said to the chief with confidence.

The village chief looked worried at first. But then he reluctantly nodded.

"Well, then can you tell us anything else about these incidents and the temple ? So we may find a clue from where to start our search." Hinata asked the chief.

"Well, there is an old shrine of a local deity called Onigami, at the top of the mountain on the left. Most of the villagers go there to worship on two special occasions. On full moon night and on the day of no moon. But around a month ago when the people went to worship the shrine on the day of no moon, they found the priest and his disciple missing. After a lot of searching they couldn't find him. And exactly after that the missing incidents have been happening.

On every third day, people who went on that path after the sun went down, went missing. Around 12 days ago I myself had gone into the forest with 6 other villagers. But we didn't find anything. Apart from the missing people we have not found anything or with the forest or the animals. At first we thought that it was a kidnapping case from bandits. But after a lot of searching we didn't find any bandit camp in this entire valley.

After that I had no other choice but to ban people from entering the forest on every 3rd day. But around ten days ago, even without going to the forest, my daughter went missing. Although we hadn't encountered such an incident after that, the villagers are still panicking. And the day after tomorrow is another day when there is a chance of people going missing." The village elder explained gloomily.

"We understand your situation. And I assure you that we will solve the situation as soon as possible.

For now excuse us. Since it is going to be a long term mission we will have to find lodging." Hinata said professionally.

"If you don't mind, then you can stay in my inn for free. It is the off -season now. And we don't have any customers living there." The chief said politely.

"Of course we don't mind." Hinata didn't decline the offer.

"Well, this is rather luxurious." Naruto said of handedly. We were given a large room with two double beds along with a private onsen attached to it.

"Well considering that it might be a trap, I think this room is not so luxurious." Hinata commented.

I was puzzled but I was not the only one who was puzzled.

"What do you mean ?" Sasuke asked.

"You didn't use your Sharingan during the conversation otherwise you would have noticed that he was nervous. He was better than many other people we have come across. During our first C rank mission, our client had tricked us. So Kurenai Sensei had taken that chance to teach us how to deal with such clients.

While he was not lying for the most part, she was nervous nonetheless. It was subtle, but noticeable.

Well we don't have to worry about it for now. Let's enjoy the treatment. We will figure out what's wrong tomorrow." Hinata said dismissively.

Then she turned towards Naruto.

"I am going to soak in the onsen."

"Coming !" Naruto followed her hurriedly. From the eager look on their faces, it was obvious that they were going for a round of banging.

"Sakura, how about you ?" Unexpectedly Sasuke asked me.

"*Sigh* I wanted to rest but, fine. Go ahead. I will join you soon." I told him as I turned toward my bag.
