Jude leaned back in his chair, studying Priscilla with a thoughtful expression. He could sense the walls she had built around herself, the barriers she had carefully constructed to keep others at arm's length. But he also saw the flicker of vulnerability in her eyes, a crack in her armor that made her all the more intriguing. 

When he met years ago, she was out for a night out with her friends to celebrate her birthday in the capital. They had a common friend, and they easily struck up a conversation. Jude found her wit and intelligence captivating, but sadness lingered just beneath the surface of her smile.
