Composure. What I needed right now was to stay as composed as possible and focus on trying to stick to the plan. And thank the gods that I was at least trying, which was more than I could say for Tristan.

I watched as all of the light had faded from his eyes the moment that he had walked into the room behind me. Thankfully I was still close enough to him to throw my elbow into him to try to get him to focus.

Too bad I hadn't caught him quick enough to keep him from letting that little comment slip, but I wasn't sure if anyone really noticed. At least, I hoped that they hadn't noticed.

Harper was staring at me with a look of confidence, but not malice so I wasn't sure if he was even aware of what his Alpha was doing or might be doing so, I pushed ahead with the introductions.
