Chapter14: Comparing Notes

The ride back to the office was a quiet one. Alexa and I all but locked ourselves in the office after that. True to his word, Vidam already sent the documents via email. I spent the whole afternoon reviewing them before sharing them with Ivan. 

An hour later, Uncle Sasha walked into my office. “Why did you not inform me that you were going to see Nikolai Lev?”

“Greetings to you uncle.” I feigned innocence. “I was not aware that you needed to go to the meeting.”

“Anton, may I remind you that your late Pa appointed me to assist you.” Uncle Sasha's assertive voice rose. 

“Nikolai invited Alexa and he took me along,” I explained and leaned back on the chair. 

“What was discussed?” he demanded, folding his arms over his chest.

“New shipping routes,” I responded. 

“What?” His eyes widened.
