Chapter 52: Blissful Reunion

One week later.

I arrived home late at night and found Nikolai in the living room sandwiched between Igor and Viktor. They drank wine and laughed as they made conversation. Anton watched them with piqued interest on the opposite side of the couch. 

My thoughts were interrupted when Nikolai spoke up. “Are you going to stand watching us from the door all night?” 

Viktor, Igor, and Anton all turned to the door and I smiled as I walked in. “How come I am the last one to know that you are back in town?”

Nikolai stood up and walked over to me and embraced me. “Welcome home, Ivan,” he teased. 

“How did it go?” I asked with concern.

“As well as expected. I sorted the issue of the shipment to Slovakia and all should be clear." He winked at me. 

“Mmh."  I took off my coat and placed it on the chair as Nikolai went back to sit in between Viktor and Igor.

“You fulfilled your promise to me,” he pointed out.
