A white SUV pulled up at the curb and flashed its lights. That was my ride.
The passenger side door opened. I took a deep breath and climbed into the car. Callum Dillinger sat in the driver’s seat.
“Um… I didn’t know you’d come to get me personally…”
Callum chuckled and threw the car into drive.
I quickly buckled my seatbelt and pulled the door closed.
“You think I’d miss the opportunity to see you in person? Besides, this is part of how I know if it’s all a setup.”
“Well, it’s not.” I looked at my hands in my lap. “I don’t want anyone else to get hurt.”
“So, you said.” He kept his gaze out of the windshield.
I glanced in his direction several times. He wasn’t a bad-looking guy. I might even go as far as to consider him handsome.
Not like Finn. Callum had a tragic handsomeness to him. Like he’d seen too much. I couldn’t help but wonder what it was he’d seen to make him like this.
