Raven glanced sideways at Gavin, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Just so you know, they call you that behind your back. They call you 'the mother'."
Gavin's initial shock quickly turned into curiosity. As one of the founding members of the host club, he had never heard of this nickname. "The mother? Really?"
Although slightly offended, his curiosity was piqued.
"And who's the father then?" Gavin asked, intrigued.
"Alaric, of course. Who else?" Raven replied, turning his face to the window as Gavin started the car. "They say you look after the club members like they're your own kids. You also support all of Alaric's decisions. Now I get it."
Gavin was surprised by the realization that he and Alaric were like parents to the other club members. It felt sweet, and he suppressed a smile. He hadn't realized the significant role he played in the club's dynamics.
