Altered

Several of Hydra soldiers jumped out of the blacked out armored SUV's. Mick was torn on how to feel about this, on one hand, it was very bad that Hydra was sending their endless forces against him for reasons he wasn't even sure about at the moment. On the other hand, it was very exciting. It had been a long time since he had cut loose with his powers, back in 2008 in Prague. Mick mixed up the phrase Ward told him to use, which then offended a high ranking general and had the entire militia after them. Thankfully that was right before Mick had married Sam, a mission he never revealed the truth about. He shook his head, this wasn't the time for memories, he needed to focus on the task at hand; He needed to clear a path and keep Jemma safe.

He smirked as he cracked his knuckles, then rolled his sleeves back on his jacket. "Move fast, and don't worry too much about me. Think you can handle that?" He asked turning to Jemma as she shrugged, her face seemed to ask if she really had much of an option. He pulled two silver hilts off his belt, igniting them which caused to glowing blue saber blades to appear. "Hey guys, is everything ok?" Mick asked, just to see how they'd react. Once they lifted their guns, he huffed. "Fine, I guess I can stand to play a little while."

Mick twirled his blades as he ran at the Hydra soldiers, blocking their pulse blasts with ease. He flicked his wrists webbing the first row of soldiers as he reached them. Then row seemed to be stunned as he jumped, using them as a spring board to clear the SUV, then landed slashing through the three soldiers that were not expecting him. He quickly webbed a soldier jerking him forward and slamming his head into the SUV before taking on the next one which was quickly throwing punches. Mick dodged several before he heard Jemma cry out. This frustrated him, so he webbed the foe, then slashed upward, sparks flew around the soldier as he twirled mid air before he crashed into the SUV and hitting the ground. He then threw out several web lines catching various soldiers sticking the ends to the SUV and surrounding buildings before placing a small silver ring on the ends in his hands, then spinning it, which caused blue electricity to flow through, electrocuting several of the soldiers who had the misfortune of getting tangled within it.

He used his webs and jumped back over the SUV to see two soldiers holding Jemma, attempting to drag her to another SUV a littler further down. Without a moment to spare, he sheathed one of his sabers in favor of a pulse ammo pistols, firing with lucky accuracy. Gun's weren't really his strong suit, but range days with Ward had really helped improve his skills. Jemma shook her head, trying not to smile. She knew he was quite the show off, but this was a little over the top. "Had enough fun yet?" She placed her hands on her hips seeing the platoon of soldiers lying on the grounds

"What? It's over already? I was just getting warmed up," Mick said with a sly grin at his well earned victory. Mick twirled his pistol in one hand, and swung the saber around in celebration before holstering both on his sides. It was short lived, as he reached into his pocket for his phone which had begun buzzing. He pulled it out, glancing to see coordinates from Ward. "Alright, fine, we need to go before backup arrives." Jemma laughed, this was a side of Mick she hadn't seen since he was still a teenager. He reached for Jemma's hand as they raced to his bike.

"AIDA really went all out giving you all this gear to supplement your flair," Jemma stated leaning on his shoulder as they raced off following the hologram map on Mick's tiny windshield.

"Not sure what AIDA is, but Sam built most of my gear. I tend to stick with the basics for the most part. They don't like it when I use my powers publically," he said loudly. "The Doctor tends to frown on both Sam and I to keep them to ourselves. Doesn't want us confused with Inhumans. He thinks it would tarnish the trust in Hydra."

"Who is the Doctor? Now you, Sam, and Ward have mentioned that name."

"He's the guy that gives my Boss orders. He ranks way up in Hydra. Second only to Madam Hydra."

"That's not really a lot of help," Jemma sounded annoyed. "Who exactly is your boss then?"

"Commander Melinda May, top brass of Striker Squad."

"She's here too?" Jemma's shock bothered Mick.

"Guess that mean's she's from your world too?" Mick asked as they pulled up to a very slummy looking, run down building.

"I'm not really sure, but I suppose we'll find out!" Jemma exclaimed as the roar of the bike died down as they parked near the door.

Mick walked inside the run down building, the floor creaking with every step, parts of the ceiling had collapsed, with water dripping from moldy insulation and debris. Mick checked his phone once again. Something about this place put him on edge. "Are you sure this is the right place?" Jemma asked with disgust.

"The location seems to match up, but I don't know why-" Mick paused as something clicked loudly, then the floor began to shift. "Jemma!" Mick dove into the crumbling floor, catching Jemma, then tried to use his webs to stop then from falling. The ceiling collapsed under their weight, and down they went, Mick clutching Jemma in his arms as they crashed down with the cascade of debris.

Mick groaned as Jemma rolled off of him, they were now in dimly lit and quite smelly drainage tunnels. "Man that hurt. You okay?" Mick asked, pulling himself to his feet while dusting himself off in the process. He looked around briefly to see Jemma dusting herself off.

"Yeah, thankfully you broke my fall," Jemma said as she began to look around.

"Welcome to the Underground," a slightly familiar, deep tone came from the tunnel behind them. Out if the shadows walked Patten.

"Patten!" Jemma exclaimed as she started to hug him, only for him to pull back looking at her skeptically.

"Do I know you?" He asked as Jemma frowned.

"Guess not," she sighed as Mick stepped between them, he placed his hand on his saber as if there would be a fight. "Mick?" Jemma questioned him as Mick glared viciously.

"What is the Underground?" Mick asked harshly as Jemma examined Patten carefully.

"It's better that you see for yourself," Patten said calmly as he began to walk into the shadows. "I'm not going to attack you. We were given orders to let you in if you showed up."

"Excuse me?" Mick started. "How would anyone in SHIELD know that I was coming?"

"Oh come on Mick! We told you Ward was a traitor to SHIELD," Jemma fussed. "Besides, you and Patten are friends. Why are you treating him like an enemy?"

"Stop," Mick clutched his head, trying to fight against his conflicting memories. Partly he wanted to believe her, as she seemed so trustworthy, yet; he couldn't do it. This just couldn't be real. "Fine, I'll be nice for now," Mick sighed trying his best to trust Jemma, then followed her and Patten through the tunnel.

"Mick!" A very familiar female voice echoed through the large open room, with a black eagle painted on the wall. Then to his surprise, Skye ran up to him embracing him warmly, causing his heart to flutter. He reluctantly held her close for a moment, unwilling to let her go. Something deep down had longed for this embrace, but why? Where could these feelings be coming from, especially when he was happily married? He quickly pushed her off when he saw Sam walking in from the other side staring at them quite confused. He staggered back, leaning against the wall trying to sort through this odd swing of emotions.

"What was that for?" Mick asked as Skye looked at him curiously as he walked over to Sam wrapping his arms around her.

"I'll explain all of this to both of you later, right now, we need to work on figuring out just who all is trapped here in the Framework," Jemma said grabbing Skye, leading her away as Mick stared at the two skeptically.

"Wait, we? Skye is a real person too?" Mick asked as Jemma seemed quite flustered, yet she and Skye whispered amongst themselves leave Mick with Sam.

"She calls herself Daisy," Sam said as Mick's mind began to whirl. His breathing became frantic, his heart raced, he felt the cold sweat return. Daisy, his flower, the girl he was in love with in his lucid dreams.

"Apparently in here I was hooking up with Ward, and I work for Hydra!" Skye said nonchalantly.

"Daisy?" Mick whispered, grabbing his head wincing in pain, then dropped to his knees. It felt as if some lock had been placed on his mind, and somehow calling Skye Daisy seemed unlock it. Pain, regret, despair, all of it spiraled around his mind as a storm of memories took hold of him, ripping him from conciousness.

"Mick!" Both Sam and Skye yelled, rushing to his side.
