The ex pays a visit

The moment she opened the door to her office, Alix was grabbed unexpectedly and pulled outside. With a yelp, stumble and near fall, she landed on a very hard masculine chest. One that added felt familiar to her hands.

She steadied herself quickly and looked at her savior who was also the cause of her predicament and irritation came over her face.

"Wei Tao," she said the name unhappily with anger.

He was her ex boyfriend, a rising actor who had sucked her money to further his career like a mosquito trying to drain a human body of blood. As soon as the fame came, he started claiming that his manager had asked him to keep the relationship secret.

When he won the best new comer award last year, she had stopped hearing from him and did not set her eyes on him again.

Even now, he was wearing a mask, a hat and sun glasses, taking every measure to hide his face.

"What brings a great actor like yourself to the doors of my small music school?" Alix asked sarcastically, clenching her fists to stop herself from starting another scandal because she had punched the new beloved actor of their country.

"Xi-Xi, let's talk." he told her, grabbing her hand as he looked around furtively like a thief.

She took her hand back and said to him, "I have nothing to say to you, you should leave."

He reached for her hand again, but a girl walked by and waved at Alix.

Just as she expected, he abandoned her hand and looked away so that the girl would not identify him.

"Qing Ru An, come here." Alix called the girl.

"Damn it, Xi-Xi, we really need to talk. I am sorry that I have been silent all this while. Please, answer my calls, hmm, or my texts on we chat. I really need to explain things." He said this hastily and made a quick exit, rushing out of the front doors with his head facing down.

Alix was glad to see him go, there was nothing to talk about between them anyway. She was officially married to Zhang Caishen, nothing would change that in the near future. Even if something did change, she would never go back to Wei Tao.

"Teacher Alix, did you want to see me for something?" The girl she had called over to use as an excuse to scare Wei Tao away asked her.

Alix scratched her right eyebrow with a finger and said slowly, "Hmm, how are your classes going?"

"They are okay, I am considering signing up for the winter winter harmony classic competition. I probably won't make it to the finals but it's a good learning experience." The girl answered.

Qing Ru An was a sweet girl, she had been with the school since the beginning. Alix liked her because she reminded her of herself, focused on the music and nothing else.

She was also from a poor background, and she worked part time jobs to pay for tuition here and support herself.

"How old are you?"

"Twenty two, teacher, why are you asking?" she looked at Alix curiously.

"Because I want to take you under my wing, you should sign up for the competition I will start training you tomorrow. If you need money to register then talk to teacher Jia and she can sign you up under the name of the school." Alix touched the girl's head and smiled softly. "Don't worry, there is no instrument in the world that I cannot play."

She had a system and skills, with them, her music school would rise to be the best in the entire country. And after the country, internationally. Alix smiled as she imagined the day she would run a school that music prodigies came to attend from all over the world.

Reality was never far, and when she looked at where she was, it hit her .

"Humm," she sighed.

"Play the game and your dream will become a reality." the system told her.

"If it were up to you I would be playing all day." she told it.

"And what's wrong with that?" it answered.

"Search the internet and read about the dangers of game addiction." she told it.

Piak!!, She felt a slap on her back, winced and turned around.

"Jin Kang, why would you hit me?" she asked in a whiny voice.

Her friend rolled her eyes and pulled her into her office, pushed her in a chair and sat across from her.

"Start talking, when, why and how did you marry Zhang Caishen?" she asked her. The where was already known.

Alix pinched her fingers as she considered the questions and how best they could be answered to satisfy the gossipy nature of her friend which was accompanied by anger and worry. Jin knew her too well that she could not lie to her.

"It just happened." she answered.

"Are you crazy? Marriage does not just happen, especially marriage to a stranger." Jin Kang shouted.

"Shhhh!" Alix urgently dashed over to Jin Kang and covered her mouth. "Don't shout, someone might overhear."

Jin Kang mumbled a few words out and bit Alix's hand.

"You, Jin Kang, you bite people now. Are you a dog?" Alix was the loud one this time round as she looked at the part of her hand that her friend had bitten.

"Who is the dog? You are the dog? How dare you call your friend a dog?" Jin Kang replied feistily.

Alix rolled her eyes and sat down, where she had been previously. "Why are you so feisty today?"

"Because my friend was trapped into marriage with a man who..." she broke off and shook her head. "His legs don't work Alix, he is known for his cold demeanor, his cranky temper and his piercing eyes which they say burn hotter than a fire . And I am sure that your family pushed you to him for some benefits. You and I both know that Billi was supposed to marry him or am I wrong? "

"You are wrong, I married him willingly. I liked Zhang Caishen when I was young, and I took advantage of the opportunity to marry him." Alix said, very seriously.

Jin Kang rolled her eyes and asked her, "You are really going to be stubborn about this it seems.

Do you think that I am stupid Alix? You were still secretly pining over Wei Tao three months ago.

You went to a bar and drunk yourself silly then scratched a bus that had his picture on the night he won that award.

How can you possibly assure me that you willingly married Zhang Caishen when you don't even know if you still love Wang Tao?"
