Beth crawled backward, using her hands, too weak to stand or run. Her eyes were glued to the strange woman advancing toward her, unable to look away.
"Now, little human, you're all alone," the woman said, spreading her hands as a satisfied smile spread across her face, savoring the moment.
What could Beth do? Who would save her from this nightmare? Everyone around her stared at her with pity, as if she'd lost her mind, completely oblivious to the woman. They couldn't see her, not even hear her chilling laughter.
The woman's claws, now elongated and gleaming, replaced her fingers. Her sharp canines grew longer as she slowly ran her tongue across them, sending a deep chill down Beth's spine.
"Someone, please help me," Beth shouted desperately, praying for anyone to intervene.
