The Oxygen Box

Aaron and Lara returned to meet Tyler in the corridor, but Tyler wasn't there, which made Lara worried.

"Where do he think he went to?" Lara got scared.

"What was the last thing he told you?" Aaron questioned before he took off the suit.

"When I was in the cash room, he told me to hurry up because there was not much time."

"He knew you were still stuck in there; how do you think he knew that?" Aaron raised a brow, and Lara was confused.

"Because I was above you," Tyler chuckled from behind them. He held a dustbin bag and approached them.

"Above me?"

"Yes, in the ceiling."

"I never knew about that."

"Because it was a last-minute plan, the bank had less security, and you couldn't carry a lot of money in that bag of yours," Tyler explained, and she was still confused.

"We went into a bank to steal without any backup plan, no solid plans. We are just some amateurs, but we succeeded without sweat; do you think we were going to take just some cash?"

Tyler signaled the dustbin bag he was holding, which was filled with cash.

"Oh no, don't tell me it's money in there," she gasped in shock before she stared at Aaron.

"This wasn't a last-minute plan; you both intentionally took me out of it," she suddenly realized because she had seen Aaron put a dustbin plastic bag in his suit pocket.

At first, she didn't take it seriously, but now she understands that it was part of the plan.

"If you already took some money, then why did you send me into the cash room again? What if I was caught? Why risk me?" Tears rolled down her cheeks, and they were confused.

"Hey, we weren't risking you. We wanted you to be a part of it, and that's why we gave you a role, and you were a big part of it." Tyler explained, but Aaron stood there looking at them.

He frowned and took his clothes from the bag and went to change. Once he was done, he returned and took the bin bag.

"Did you buy our tickets?" Aaron asked Tyler, and he nodded.

"What about the oxygen machine?"

"What oxygen machine? See, you guys are leaving me out again,"

"Listen here, Lara; we have been through stuff like this; we know how risky it is, and us not giving you all the details means we are protecting you." Aaron scolded, and she scoffed.

"Protecting me? Those were the same words my father said before he sent me to sleep in the stable."

"If I am not all in, then I am out. All along, you both never wanted me in," she scolded, taking off the cash from her thighs and throwing it at them, then placing her bag down.

"To hell with you both," then she stumped off to leave.

"Are we going to let her leave?" Tyler asked, and Aaron clenched his fist. This was why he didn't want to work with a girl.

Shouldn't she be happy that they got more money? Los Angeles was a big place; if she left, they wouldn't be able to find her, and they had to leave this place today.

He hurried towards her and grabbed her hand. "Hey, listen to me; I don't run after girls and plead with them," he said, and she rolled her eyes.

"And I am not a good talker, but I am a good listener, so what's wrong with you?"

"The problem is that you both don't want me."

"If we didn't need you, then do you think we would bring you along? We could have abandoned you in Reno if we wanted."

Lara nodded because that made sense; she was just angry. That's what girls do.

"And next time, we will let you all in. I promise you. Take my word."

Lara smiled and turned towards him. "And if we ever get a house, I get to choose a bedroom first."

Aaron nodded. "And I get to cook for us all?"

He agreed again. "And I get to be in charge of the accounts?"

"Don't push your luck," Aaron frowned, and she burst out in laughter.

"Okay, I will change, and let's get moving." She hurriedly picked up her clothes and went to change.

Tyler walked towards Aaron and patted his shoulder. "You meant your words about letting her all in?"

"Yes, she is a part of us. But we have to protect her."

"Okay, so let's get everything."

They opened the oxygen machine and filled it with all the cash, and Tyler held the mask. "Who will put it on? It can't be me."

"Put on what?" Lara walked to them, as she was now dressed casually.

They both looked at her and smiled at each other. They couldn't carry a big bag and travel because it was going to attract a lot of attention. So the best way was to put it in an oxygen box and let one of them put on the mask.

"I know that look, and I am out." Lara declined immediately.

"Let's play rock, paper, scissors," Tyler suggested, and they all agreed.

"You both start," Lara suggested.

"Rock, paper, scissors," Aaron and Tyler said before they checked their hands.

Tyler had paper, and Aaron had rock. "I won," Tyler jumped happily before he turned to Lara.

"Rock paper scissors," he said, and Lara had paper and he had scissors.

"I won again; now you two losers play." He felt so proud. Aaron and Lara stared at each other before they said, "Rock paper scissors."

Lara had a rock, and Aaron had scissors. "Guess who is putting on the oxygen mask?" she burst out in laughter.

"It can't be that bad," Aaron scoffed before he placed the mask around his nose, and they stopped a cab, which took them to the seashore, where they would take a ship to Mexico.

They got onboard, and everyone felt bad for Aaron as he walked around with an oxygen mask.

"He can't live without that," Tyler explained to some viewers, and they nodded.

"You will be fine, okay?" an older lady said, and Aaron nodded before he pushed the oxygen box to his seat. It wasn't long before the ship took off, and he took out his physics textbook,
