"Hup!" August grunts as he jumps over my Crescent Moon Slash, dodging the attack as August watches all of his Flesh Clones get butchered beneath him. "Winter, while I'm up here!" August orders.
"Yes, brother…" Winter replies as she crouches down low and places a hand to the ground, which is bubbling with her icy-blue Cursed Power. "Cryokinesis: Skating Rink," Winter says, and a wave of ice floods form Winter's hand, freezing the entire arena.
"Woah!" I cry as I attempt to hop out of the way of Winter's ice, but I'm unsuccessful as the ice freezes across the ground of the entire arena. When I land on the frozen ground, I instantly slip. I frantically flail my arms in an attempt to keep balance, but I still fall to the ground, nonetheless. "Shit!" I grunt as Winter's ice begins spreading up my entire body, starting from where my feet touched her icy floor.
August then lands on the ground as well, using protrusions of flesh sticking out from the soles of his feet to walk, so that his actual body doesn't touch this ice. Like peg legs, or stilts.
"Cryokinesis: Crystal Turrets," Winter then says, as two crystal blue turrets of icicles rise from the ground, constructed out of the ice freezing the entire arena. Winter's Crystal Turrets then begin firing off volley after volley of icicles my way, as fast as a machine gun.
"Extend-o-Blade: Tornado Shield!" I shout as I bring my katana up, cloaking it in wind and flooding its blade with Cursed Power. I then swiftly extend the blade of my katana outwards, so that it wraps around me in armor, while also forming a tornado with my wind, deflecting Winter's icicles. A few icicles manage to break through my defenses, and some pierce me while others I fend off with my blade.
Through my wind and blades, I see a few more of August's clones charge towards me, only to get sliced up by my prevailing tornado and Extend-o-Blade.
Another volley of ice shards are sent flying towards me from Winter's Crystal Turrets, and quickly, I allow my tornado to dissipate while also retracing the extended blade of my katana back to its usual length. I bring my knees up, and slam my frozen feet against the ground, causing the ice encrusted across my legs to shatter immediately. I then wrap a tornado around my waist and legs, using it to levitate in the air over Winter's ice so as to not get frozen again. And of course, Winter's Crystal Turrets miss their target; me.
"Well this was fun enough, but are you thinking what I'm thinking, Blue Demon?" August calls to me with a smirk.
"No, because you're thinking we go all 'demon' on each other, while I'm thinking that I don't need to in order to win," I call back with a smirk of my own, causing August's smirk to melt into a sneer.
"This is a fight between half demons to see which is stronger, the original or the superior modified version, we're going to use our half demon powers!" August bellows. "Ready winter?"
"Ready, brother," Winter replies.
"RED DEMON!"
"White Demon…"
August then resumes his Red Demon state, a form that I've seen a couple of times now. But as for Winter, I remember not seeing her half demon mode, in the IJST, as if she wasn't able to use it back then.
The veins all across the right half of Winter's body begin to glow a dull, icy blue, as the whites of Winter's right eye turns black and the pupil turns white, with her right eye turning a dull purple. A light gray ring outlines Winter's right eye. The burst of energy from WInter's body blows away some of the bandages wrapped around her entire body, allowing me to see the glowing light blue veins, which shine from underneath the white bandages.
"Winterrrr!" August whines. "As artificial half demons, we were both born able to use and control our half demon powers, so how come you can still only enter a half demon state instead of your full demon state?! You couldn't even enter your half demon mode until a year ago, you're embarrassing me!"
Well that answers my question.
"Hey, no fair! You were born able to control your powers?!" I had to work my ass off to have to do that!" I cry.
"Apologizes…brother…." Winter apologizes.
"Well whatever. I'm just excited to see what your full demon state looks like!" August cheerfully replies, before turning his attention back to me. "So you can control your Blue Demon form now? When we first fought, you couldn't activate it on command. Let's see it!" August orders, causing me to smirk.
"You're digging your own grave here, buddy," I reply.
"BLUE-"
***
"-DEMON!"
"You know…just shouting "Blue Demon" isn't going to help you activate your demon powers," my dad says.
"Well then how do you do it?" I whine.
"For the high ranking, humanoid, intelligent demons, we were all born with this ability to disguise ourselves in a human form, or enter our demon form on command the second we're born," my dad explains.
"Well it's gotta' be the same for half demons, right?" I ask. "I am your son after all."
"I don't know. Half demon biology is out of my expertise," my dad matter-of-factly replies, causing me to grunt in distress and throw my hands into the air in frustration.
"Maybe seeing you do it will help give me some ideas," I suggest.
"Hmm…not a bad idea…" my dad mutters as he places a hand to his chin. "NO!"
"WHY NOT?!"
"I swore off using my demon powers at all a little after you and your sister were born, and I can't break that promise to myself. I've already broken too many," my dad explains.
"You're already showing me Extend-o-Sword, what's wrong with showing me your demon form?" I ask.
My dad sighs. "Fine, but I will only show it to you once," he replies. "Hold your breath."
"Why?" I ask.
"Most find it…hard to breathe, around me. At least reinforce your body with Cursed Power, to the max," my dad explains.
"Uh…okay," I reply as dark blue Cursed Power begins bubbling around my entire body.
My dad closes his eyes, and then…his body changes. My dad's skin turns a sickly toxic green color, a vibrant purple tail, horns, claws, and talons sprout from my dad's body.
And then I realize why my dad told me to hold my breath. A lime green gas begins seeping from his pores, and instantly, I close my mouth and hold my breath. The second that the gas touches my body, my skin begins burning, and I reinforce my body with an extra layer of Cursed Power.
Speaking of Cursed, a rush of toxic green Cursed Power erupts from my dad's body, which reacts with my own, causing my body to slowly morph into my half demon form. Sensing this, my dad's eyes widen, allowing me to see his black eyes and yellow eyes. Quickly, my dad reverts out of his demon form as his Cursed Power subsides, causing me to drop to the ground on my hands and knees, and gasping for breath.
"Luis, are you okay?!" My dad cries as he rushes to my side and places a hand on my back. "I shouldn't have done that, I'm a terrible fath-"
I cut my dad off.
"No, I wanted to see it," I cough as I look up to face my dad, tears forming at the edges of my stinging eyes. "And besides, I learned something valuable from that experience."
"You did? What is it?" My dad asks.
"This-" I say as I hold my right arm up, allowing my dad to see that it's veins are still glowing a medium blow, and surging with power.
"A partial demon transformation…" my dad marvels.
I slam my fist into the ground, forming a giant crater in the floor, due to my demon powers. "This could be a good weapon," I say as I peer up to face my dad.
"Oh, it will be," he replies. "A major strength boost without losing control of your senses."
My dad's eyes then widen.
"What is it? I ask.
"I've thought of a way to help you control your demon powers," my dad answers.
"What?! Tell me?!" I cry.
"It was a method used to subdue half demons in the early days, where the offspring of a human and a demon was far more common than it is now, yet still rare. But it's incredibly dangerous and was banned across both Hell and Earth," my dad explains.
I snort and roll my eyes. "Please…who cares?! I don't care about the legality of shit, I was kidnapped like twice and my boss sent people to kill me!" I snap, causing my dad to smirk.
"I know, I was never going to suggest not using it," he says, causing my eyes to widen, before narrowing down into a smirk.
"Alright, then let's get this started, here and now," I reply.
