Caught Off?

Odin immediately closed the mouth with the right hand, which he took control, to prevent Kai from making any voice again. Meanwhile, Kai — who took control of the left side of his own body the most — glared his left eye when he saw a blade stuck next to his face.

"I think I heard something just now."

A man's voice outside made Kai frightened while held his breath. His left hand looked trembling as he squeezed the shirt that he wore.

"I saw that boy over there!"

"Catch that brat quickly!"

Both Kai and Odin can hear the sound of steps moving away from there quickly. After the sound of the steps was no longer heard, Odin slowly got out from the trash can.

"The fuck! The smell is so horrible! It feels like something coming out of — hooekk!"

Odin vomited all his guts and felt a little dizzy. This was the first time he had ever felt this way and made him almost fall because he lost his balance, but the sound of [System] as if to wake him up.

DING!

[Warning!]

[Remaining Time: 00:13:44]

"Tsk, I almost forgot about the time. Is it still far away?" muttered Odin.

"No. It's not far beyond that wall," Kai said again and then pointed towards a tall wall beside them.

Odin smiled awkwardly and said, "Are you kidding me?"

"You think I'm crazy for joking at the time like this? Of course, I never jumped off that wall. I usually use a normal way."

"Then, with thirteen minutes, is that enough to get to your home?" Odin asked again while scrunching his waist.

"I suppose that's enough, but —"

"Fuck! Where did he go?!"

Suddenly the voices of Bryan's subordinates could be heard again. Immediately, Odin and Kai were frozen.

In the next second, Odin then ran towards one of the trash cans near the wall. But his right hand still couldn't reach the top.

Suddenly an idea crossed his mind when he saw many trash bags there. Then, Odin went down and took the trash bags even from inside the big cans, stacking them as high as possible, until he thought that it was enough to make him reach the top of the wall.

"I think I heard something from the blind alley earlier."

Odin, who heard the voice from a distance, immediately climbed up the pile of trash bags he had stacked. He also cooperated with Kai who controlled the left hand, until they finally reached the top of the wall. However, when he was at the top, Odin did not immediately jump down to the other side.

"Hey, what are you —"

"Shhh!" Odin hissed and immediately covered his mouth to stop Kai's words.

Odin then grabbed a long stick and used it to bring down the pile of trash he had piled high.

"With this, the chase game is over," Odin said and then he jumped down to the other side.

As his feet hit the ground, both Odin and Kai could hear the voices of the people chasing them just beyond the wall.

"There is nothing here. Where exactly are they?"

"H-Hey, it's looks like he climbed over this wall!"

"Damn it! Quickly go behind this wall and catch him! That brat must be still around!"

Hearing that, Odin grinned widely as he moved away from there. How stupid those humans were — Odin thought.

"We've five minutes left. Lead the way, quickly!" Odin said as glanced up at the night sky for a moment and changed his steps to running.

"T-That way!" Kai said in a slight tremble while pointed in a direction.

Afterward, Odin ran to the direction as fast as he could. After he ran quite far, Odin stopped right in front of wall fence that not-so-high with an iron gate in the middle of it.

"Over there! We'll have to climb over the fence because I think I lost the key," Kai said while reached into his trouser pocket.

Kai just realized that the clothes he was wearing were not his, so he said again, "Huh? I don't think this is my shirt. How can I wear this clothes?"

On the other hand, Odin didn't pay attention to Kai's muttering and just remained silent while staring at the stone wall in front of him.

A second later, Odin jumped and climbed the fence quickly. When he got down to the other side of the wall, suddenly a [System] notification sounded and was followed by a screen appearing.

[Congratulations! Mission Completed]

[Accumulate rewards]

[Experience points earned]

[Level up!]

Odin smiled with satisfaction and said, "Open status window."

DING!

[STATUS WINDOW]

[Name: Kai Donovan]

[Level: 2]

[Race: Human]

[Stamina Bar: 10%]

[16 years old]

[Title: Leywin Morgan's Sandbag]

[POWER STATUS]

[Strength: 2; Agility: 2; Resistance: 2; Dexterity: 1, Spiritual power: -10; Luck: -5]

When he saw the [status window], Odin furrowed his brow in confusion. All status points increased by 1, but not with [Spiritual power] and [Luck].

Is the system broken? — Odin thought.

On the other hand, Kai looked at the [status window] screen with enthusiasm as he said, "Oh? This is really similar with the game or some online novel I read before."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Odin replied cluelessly.

"I mean, this [System] reminds me of some online novels I read before. I will show you later," Kai said again.

Odin still did not understand Kai's words. He chose to respond it with a short mumble. Novels? What else is that? — Odin thought as he closed the screen [status window].

"By the way, we'll enter through the window."

Odin frowned in astonishment and then asked, "Huh? Why?"

"I think I lost the house keys too. It was a luck because my window lock was broken, so we won't be out all night."

"..."

"There ... that's my window," Kai said.

Odin just muttered 'oh' then immediately went to the window Kai pointed out and opened it. Afterward, he jumped inside and closed the window again.

There was only darkness in there and Kai immediately moved his left hand to press the light switch on the wall. A yellow light was lit on the ceiling. Not too bright, but enough to see clearly inside of the room.

The room was so small but it looked clean and tidy. There weren't many things in the room, just an old bed, a worn-out closet, and a weathered bookshelf.

"Now for first of all ... we need go to the bathroom over there for clean up. I can't stand with this the stinks — ugh!" said Kai while pointing to one of the doors ahead.

"Ugh! You're right. It's like smelling hellworm vomit," said Odin while holding his vomit.

As the original owner of this body said, Odin thought that he should clean up first.

Valhalla, Supreme Heaven

Guest Hall

"Greeting the Goddess of Justice and Balance," said Brunhilde while kneeling.

In front of Brunhilde stood a woman who was called Themis. She had eyes that were covered with a thick white cloth.

"No need to be that formal. I'm not your Master who deserves all of your respect," said Themis as she smiled kindly.

"Thank you for your kindness, Goddess. Have you come here to meet my Master?" said Brunhilde who did her best to keep calm.

"Yes. I have something to discuss with your Master and I want to give this apple pie too."

"..."

"I ate a few slices before and it was very good, so I remember that Your Highness is really like an apple pie," Themis said while biting her lip at the end.

When she saw Themis' agitated reaction, Brunhilde could guess the woman's true purpose for coming here so suddenly.

It was common knowledge among the Aesir Gods that Themis had a crush on Odin, the God King. Unfortunately, the insensitive Odin would marry the Goddess Frigga, who was pregnant Odin's child.

How a complicated love story — Brunhilde thought.

"I see," said Brunhilde, "Master is currently busy, so —"

"Ah, I-I will wait," interrupted Themis.

"..."

Realizing her impoliteness, Themis then spoke again, "Ahem, I mean … I have some things to discuss with your Master, so I'll wait here."

"Pardon me for the misunderstanding, Goddess. All I wanted to say is that Master would meet you in person soon and because of that, Master asked me to accompany Goddess here," said Themis.

"Ah, I see. Sorry, it seems I misunderstood a bit earlier. Then, you can accompany me to chat here," said Themis.

"..."

"Sit beside me," said Themis again.

Brunhilde smiled but she clenched her hands behind her body to cover her fear. Now, Brunhilde's only hope was Gunnr and the God of Life and Birth.

"As your wish, Goddess," said Brunhilde in politeness, then she sat beside Themis.

After a long talk, suddenly a voice came from the stairs. Both Brunhilde and Themis turned their heads toward the sound.

"Sorry to keep you waiting."

A handsome figure walked down from the stairs. He was the figure known as the God King, Odin.

Themis immediately stood up, then she knelt while bowing his head.

With a soft voice, she said, "Greeting Your Highness the God of King. Heaven will always be on your side."

The God King seemed to pause for a moment and cleared his throat and said, "Get up, Goddess Themis! There's no need to be so formal now."

"Thank you for your kindness, Your Highness," replied Themis and she stood up.

"Then, tell me ... what brings you here all of sudden?" Odin asks while secretly glancing at Brunhilde.

"F-Forgive me for all of the discomfort. However, when I went to Goddess Hestia's place, she asked me to give Your Highness an apple pie that she made."

Brunhilde was speechless at that moment. What a stritch woman who can't be honest with herself — Brunhilde thought.

Meanwhile, Odin stared at Themis in disbelief and his right eye twitching. Of all the reasons, that's it? — thought Odin.

"Ahem. I accept it and thank you," replied Odin.

Themis then handed over a pan of apple pie that she had brought to Odin.

On the other hand, Odin gives any reaction. His face still looks confused with the true intention of Themis.

But not long after that, Themis said again, "Pardon me, Your Highness. I have something to tell … it's about a strange power that I felt from the Earth."

Odin looked surprised for a moment before he answered, "Tell it."

"I felt a strong power on Earth and it feels as strong as Your Highness' [Divinity] power."

Both Brunhilde and Odin, immediately frozen. Brunhilde was the most terrified looking with a pale face and cold sweat all over her face.

Did other Gods and Goddess already know? — Brunhilde thought.

"Your Highness, have you gone to Earth a while ago?"
