Tough Decision

"Ugh, damn it! What the hell was that?!"

Odin opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a dark sky and white lumps falling from the sky. When it touched his face skin, he then felt a shock of coldness.

Wait! Cold? — Odin immediately got up from his supine position while widened his eyes.

"This is ..."

Odin hung up his words when he realized where he was. This place was the border realm of Heaven and the Underworld, the Forbidden Fortress.

To be able to reach the Forbidden Fortress any creatures had to crossing the bridge. However, the bridge be guarded by the God of Heaven Guard, Heimdall who was accompanied by his Guardian, Eremiel.

They are very strict and no one could escape from their eyes, neither those from within Heaven nor those from outside Heaven. Only a select some certain Gods from Supreme Heaven were allowed to go to the Forbidden Fortress, one of them is Odin. Unfortunately, he doesn't have idea which region of the Forbidden Fortress he was in now.

Odin remembered that the last thing he heard in between the drum beats was a notification from [System]. So there was no mistaking it, he was able to get here because of the [System].

Ah right [System] - Odin thought.

"[System], open the mission details window!"

[@#$%¥]

Odin raised one eyebrow as he heard [System]'s sound become ambiguous. Moreover the screen becoming flickering.

[System Error]

[Unable Find User's Location]

[Performing System Reset]

[Resetting Process: 1%]

When he read those, Odin felt his eyes twitch and then he laughed in frustration.

"Hahaha ... damn Brunhilde! What kind of [System] have you created?!" Odin said in pittifuly.

Odin still laughed, but then ended up swearing, "Hahaha... fuck off! That damn bitch! I'm really going to hang her neck over Hephaestus' furnace!"

Right now, he really wanted to burn Brunhilde's head. How could that female bird make this rubbish! - Odin cursed within himself.

Not so long, Odin suddenly stopped his laugh and get froze when he realized something different in himself. He looked at his hands which were back like his own and not the thin, dry hands of the humans he had possessed. Odin then held his hair and stared at the golden yellow strands.

Right, there is no mistaking it, this is his real body — Odin said to himself.

"I-I'm back!" said Odin happily.

While in the euphoria of his pleasure, Odin suddenly heard the sound of big steps nearby. He approached the source of the sound and found a group of Frost Giants walking across a snowy field.

One of the giants seemed to be carrying several creatures with their bodies bound and only showing their heads. Most of it were animals, however there was only a human there.

"Like I've seen that human before ..." Odin said as he squinted his eyes.

A second later, his expression suddenly stiffened. One of the humans carried was the boy who shared his body with him before, Kai Donovan.

"That boy ... How did he get so unlucky and get caught by Frost Giants?" Odin said as he tapped his forehead.

He then looked away and said again happily, "But, I think ... that's none of my business either. Now, the important thing is ... I can return to Heaven!"

However, a few moments later Odin's gaze turned gloomy and the smile on his face also faded slowly. He then looked at Kai's body and was swaying, until Kai's figure disappeared along with the Frost Giants in the blizzard.

It seems that the boy was unconscious — thought Odin in compassion.

For a moment, Odin fell silent while looking down. Once again, he gazed at the place where the Frost Giants disappeared.

Odin then snorted as he smiled faintly and said, "Well ... I suppose returning to Heaven can be later."

Odin then prepared to use his [Authority] to chasing the Frost Giants who were already quite far ahead

"I think 5% is enough," said Odin who wondered how much [Authority] power that he had to spend.

After that he said again, "[Void Authority: 50 Times Body Strengthening]"

Instantly a purplish veil of light coated Odin's body. Odin then gets ready to take a step. Right after, he shot in full speed through the blizzard.

It only took a short time until Odin finally saw a glimpse of the back of one of the giants. When the giant's back was within his reach, he struck the giant on the back, sending it flying forward, then crashing into one of the other giants there.

Suddenly the other Frost Giants stopped walking and turned around. They instantly realized another existence other than their race.

Shortly after, one of them opened his mouth and was about to shout to call out to their distant herd.

Odin, knowing its intention, then picked up a giant rock nearby and threw it at the head of one of the Frost Giants who was about to scream.

"Gr —"

CRASH!

BOOM!

The giant's body fell down. It made a sound and effect like an explosion on the snow surface.

Seeing their dead companion with the head crushed by a rock, then the other Frost Giants were about to cry out in unison.

However Odin did not stay for nothing, he pulled out one of the giant fir trees there and slashed it towards the stomach of the remaining four giants as if he was slashing them with a big sword.

SLASH!

SLASH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Odin smiled with satisfaction as he watched the giants fall. Then he remembered that he was here to save Kai.

"Kiddo! Where are you?"

"..."

"Answer me!"

Odin didn't stop calling Kai, even though not by Kai's name.

After shouting for Kai for a long time, Odin then became a little worried and thought that Kai's body would be crushed by the giant he killed.

But, suddenly Odin's pair of eyes caught the figure of a black-haired head with its body still bound right beside one of the Frost Giant's corpses.

Odin then immediately approached the figure and he breathed a sigh of relief that the boy was still in good condition. Seems he was just unconscious — Odin thought in relief.

He then pulled on the ropes in opposite directions, causing them to rip and break.

"Hey, wake up, kiddo! We have to hu —"

"Graar ...! Graar ...! Graar ...!"

A scream from the Frost Giant sounded. Odin then immediately turned around and found one giant who was still alive even with a split stomach.

Afterward Odin picked up a fist-sized stone and threw it with full force into the Frost Giant's mouth.

"Gra —"

CRASH!

The giant's head was instantly crushed. Then, Odin immediately carried Kai's body on his back and then through the blizzard in the opposite direction. There's no more time — thought Odin.

If they didn't leave this place soon then those Frost Giants would come in a large herd soon and it would be a troublesome battle.

For him, defeating a herd of giants was easy. However, Odin did not want to use more than 5% of his power here. Because, those conservative elders in Heavenly Court were quite sensitive to the [Authority] and [Divinity] powers of the Gods, especially his own. Moreover, there was also still Heimdall who was strict and no different from them.

However, since he was only using 5% of his [Authority] power, Odin thought that everything would be fine.

"I think everything will be fine," Odin said confidently.
