Chapter 35- The Trial

The next few weeks were rough but Emma made it through it all. She went to the police station and reported the rape recalling as much of the details as she could. It helped that she was not the only victim and telling her story helped her to rid herself of some of the pain she had hidden for weeks. She hated being one of the girls assaulted by Isaac Collins because the press was having a frenzy about the case. The Collins were wealthy and well-known in the business world. As a result, the case got noticed early on. There was also interest in her and the other girls as well because of their family backgrounds. The day she had to testify was the hardest. Her family was there to support her but it was still heavy to recall the details that were still in pieces. Emma was a source of strength to the other girls who lived this nightmare longer than she did and kept quiet about what Isaac did to them.
